Wenshuyuan is located in Qingyang District, Chengdu. Wenshuyuan was founded in the great cause of the Sui Dynasty (605-6 17). In the thirty-sixth year of Kangxi (1697), he raised funds to rebuild the temple and changed its name to Wenshuyuan. It is one of the key Buddhist temples in the State Council, the first of the four Zen forests in the upper and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China, and a key cultural relic protection unit in Sichuan Province. It is a Buddhist holy place integrating Buddhist holy places, ancient gardens, pilgrimage and sightseeing, and religious study.

Wenshuyuan was founded in the great cause of Sui Dynasty. After Tang, Five Dynasties, Song, Yuan and Ming Dynasties, it was once called Xinxiang Academy and Xinxiang Temple. It was not until the thirty-sixth year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1697) that it was renamed Wenshuyuan.
In the 20th year of Kangxi (168 1), Zen Master Ci Du came to the abandoned land of Xinxiangyuan and made a vow to repair the Dojo where his shaving master Xin Xiangjing once lived. Because Xinxiang Academy was destroyed by war in the late Ming Dynasty, Zen Master Ci Du lived between two ancient Chinese fir trees and insisted on meditation for a living. Soon after, the Zen master practiced something extraordinary and showed the brilliance of fire in meditation. Ordinary people think it is amazing and incredible, and they think he is a Manjusri Bodhisattva. Because of the people's admiration for Zen Master Ci Du's secret deeds and the support of the government and literati, it was renamed Wen Shu Academy.
Because Zen master Cidu was noble and famous, Emperor Kangxi admired him after hearing about it. He invited Zen master Cidu to Beijing three times, but the Zen master declined politely. In the forty-first year of Kangxi (1702), Emperor Kangxi gave a banner of "empty forest" and sent an envoy to Wenshuyuan, so Wenshuyuan was also called "empty forest hall".
It is said that Manjusri Bodhisattva is in charge of the examination. It is said that in addition to parents, some school principals and teachers will come here to worship in the senior high school entrance examination and the college entrance examination, hoping that their students can do well in the exam. It doesn't matter how high and strong the fragrance is, the most important thing is a pious heart.
