Gangcun is located at the south foot of Huangshan Scenic Area and belongs to Tangkou Town, huangshan district. Gangcun was called Jiangcun in ancient times. In ancient times, Gangcun was surrounded by water (one side was Longxi River, which originated from Sanxianjian (a small place name) at the junction of Huizhou, Xiuning and yi county, and the other side was Ruanxi River, which originated from Ling Xing (a small place name) in the rest of Huangshan Mountain. It is backed by Lailong Mountain and faces southeast. The village is bounded by the river outside, and there are no residents across the river. This is a whole dense forest. Longxi River and Ruanxi River meet at the entrance of Gangcun Village, flow eastward through Huizhou District and join Xin 'anjiang River. The whole village is like a huge ship sailing in the river, hence the name Jiangcun. Xu Xiake recorded in "A Tour of Huangshan Mountain": "On the third day of September (AD 16 18), I left Baiyue Langmei 'an and arrived at Taoyuan Bridge. Jiangcun in the article refers to Gangcun now. Gangcun was the most populous village in Fiona Fang at that time. At the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, it is said that people in Gangcun somehow offended Mr. Feng Shui, who changed Jiangcun to Gangcun ("Jiang" and "Hong Kong" are homonyms in Gangcun dialect), meaning that Jiangcun Mountain could not survive without water. After liberation, the broad masses of people turned over and liberated and overthrew the mountains that were pressing on the people's heads. So someone proposed to move the mountain above the Gangcun post, which formed the present Gangcun, hence the name Gangcun.
Second, geographical location.
Gangcun is located in the south of Tangkou Town, adjacent to Huizhou District in the east, Xiuning County in the south, yi county in the west and Huangshan Scenic Area in the north. The provincial highway S 103 of Tunhuang Tourist Highway passes through the village and is an important traffic artery to enter Huangshan Scenic Area.
In March 2008, after village-level scale adjustment, the original Dalingxia Village was merged into Gangcun Village. Gangcun now has 24 villagers' groups, including Gangcun Central Village, Zaowu, Ruanxishan, Shewukeng, Ruanxikeng, Dalingxia, Ruankeng, Changzhen and Xiaolingxia. It is the largest administrative village around Huangshan Mountain with a population of more than 3,600.
Third, the evolution of the establishment.
1958, Gangcun was under the jurisdiction of Huangshan Commune in Shexian County. 1983, Huangshan Commune was changed to Huangshan Township. 1984, after the original Taiping County withdrew from the county and set up Huangshan City at the county level, Gangcun was placed under Tangkou Town, Huangshan City. 1992 Withdraw county-level cities to establish prefecture-level Huangshan City, and the port village was placed under Tangkou Town, huangshan district, Huangshan City.

Gangcun's surnames are Jiang, Fan, Dai, Chen and Zhang. Jiang's population accounts for more than 65%. Jiang's ancestral home is in Henan. At the end of the Tang Dynasty, the situation in Huang Chao and Henan was turbulent. In order to escape the war, Jiang went into exile in Shaxi Village, Shexian County, Anhui Province, then moved to Niutoukou, Qiaoshe, Huizhou District, and soon moved from Niutoukou to Jiangcun, Yangcun Township. Jiang's two brothers moved from Jiangcun to Gangcun. The elder brother settled in the present Shanggang village, and the younger brother settled in the laid-off village. This is the historical process of Jiang moving to Hong Kong village.

The resources of Gangcun are mainly forests and tea. The cultivated land area is less than 150 mu, and the forest area is 79800 mu, including 4000 mu of tea garden and 3000 mu of camellia oleifera.
