Wuxiang new district is a brand-new urban area with Beibu Gulf as the core in Nanning's urban planning, and it is a vast area south of Yongjiang River, including Yongjiang River in the north, Nama River in the south, Liangfeng River in the west, contiguous hills in the east, Yongning Old Town and Bachijiang River in the east, and Panlong District, Liangqing Town, Yudong Economic Park and Coastal Economic Corridor Development Zone in Liangqing District.
The Five Elephants is a legend of Nanning, a group of mascots, a landscape and a "new district" of Nanning. -wuxiang new district, named after Wuxiangling in the new district. According to Nanning Annals, there are five continuous slopes on the south bank of the city. "The mountain is majestic, and it arches to the city corridor, which is a barrier to service. The five peaks lean against each other, like five elephants drinking the river." Known as the "Five Elephant Ridges", "Xiangling Lan Yan" has become one of the eight scenic spots in Yongzhou.
There are many legends about the Five Elephants, of which two are the most famous. First, Nanning used to be a place with good mountains, good waters and good people, but it was often invaded by wild animals. Later, the five gods came down to earth to help people cultivate and drive away wild animals; Another story is that Qin Shihuang drove five elephants to Nanning to control mountain torrents and floods.
