Weibei is a kind of writing and stone carving font in the Southern and Northern Dynasties in China. It can be understood as a kind of calligraphy, which can be roughly divided into four types: inscription, epitaph, statue inscription and cliff stone carving. Weibei in this period is a transitional calligraphy font, which inherited the elegance of Qin and Han dynasties, opened the wind of Sui and Tang Dynasties, and also had a very significant impact on Sui and Tang Dynasties.

Wei Bei is eclectic, changeable in style, fluent and handsome. Originally created by Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty, it combines various calligraphy styles, such as Gao Zhenbei's epitaph and Yuan Huai's epitaph.
