Construction of Laoding Mountain Scenic Area

1992, with the approval of the Ministry of Forestry, Laodingshan National Forest Park was established. The Master Plan of Laodingshan National Forest Park was compiled by Shanxi Forestry Survey and Design Institute in March 1994. According to the plan, the park can be divided into four scenic spots with different functions and distinctive features. The first is the animal breeding and viewing area, which mainly breeds endangered wild animals, economic animals and ornamental animals for protection, viewing and picnic. The second is the forestry research survey area. Located in the southeast of the park, the site conditions are complete and the forest landscape is diverse, which can be used for visitors to watch, study and teach. Third, Laoding Mountain Scenic Area, located in the middle of Laoding Mountain, concentrates natural scenery for tourists to enjoy. The fourth is Shennong Peak Scenic Area, which is the core and soul of the park. It mainly shows the great achievements of Emperor Yan, so that people can remember the achievements of their ancestors and recall human history. After the completion of the whole project, 10 natural landscapes and 44 scenic spots can be opened to tourists. Laodingshan Forest Park puts forward the main line of development and construction with Yan Di Shennong, the ancestor of China, as the soul of the park. In the development and construction, the historical legend of Yan Di's contribution to the Party in Baigu Mountain was highlighted, and all-round development and construction were carried out around Shennong, Yan Di. It has invested in the restoration of Xindingdi Ancient Temple, the reconstruction of Kowloon Palace Scenic Area, and the construction of entertainment service facilities and tourist attractions such as the entrance to the park, the entertainment slide and the Shennong ancestor Baicaotang. Laodingshan Forest Park has become a green barrier and a treasure trove of geomantic omen in Changzhi.

It is particularly worth mentioning that in order to carry forward our ancestor Shennong's taste of herbs on Taihang Mountain and realize the remains of a major turning point in human history from nomadism to settlement, from fishing and hunting to farming, Changzhi Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government built a large-scale memorial hall where the emperor tasted herbs. A giant bronze statue of Yan Di, which is 39 meters high and ranks first in Asia, stands at the top of Baigu Mountain. Sacrificial altars, temples and landscapes such as Baicaotang, Shennongjing, Shennongquan, Reddy Cave and Shennong Village, as well as inscriptions with bronze statues as the main body, are being prepared.
