The Biography of Shi Yang in the History of Song Dynasty records a story about Shi Yang, a scholar of Song Dynasty, and another one.
When encountering problems, I went to the Cheng family for advice with my classmate You Zuo. At this time, it snowed heavily.
Gauge is taking a nap. In order not to disturb the teacher, Shi Yang and Youzuo stood quietly outside the door.
Wait a minute. I don't know how long it took. When Cheng Yi woke up, the snow outside was already a foot thick. He found two "
The snowman stood respectfully, very moved, and immediately asked someone to introduce him. This is "Cheng"
Snow "story.
The ancient style of "respecting teachers and valuing morality" has been passed down for thousands of years in Chinese history. If we put this
"Tao" is understood as the way of governing the country, the way of ensuring peace and the way of national luck, so teachers should obey it.
To respect. But in my impression, the tradition of "respecting teachers and valuing morality" once declined, that is, the saying of "knowledge or not"
Thanks for the usage theory! Since knowledge is useless, why study? Why ask the teacher? Teachers in this atmosphere
Naturally, I became a "smelly Laojiu" who was criticized every day.
However, "feng shui turns around." Since the reform and opening up, especially in the last decade, science and technology have developed rapidly.
With the rapid development of knowledge economy, knowledge has become useful, so it is very important to discuss respecting teachers.
As mentioned, the profession of teachers has gradually become a respected and preferential group. subsistence allowance
It has been improved and its social influence is increasing day by day. September 10 every year is designated as "Teacher's Day". therefore
The trend of "respecting teachers and attaching importance to teaching" or "respecting teachers and attaching importance to teaching" can be revived in Xingtan and classroom. This is the value
A great event to be thankful for.
Of course, such respect for teachers is just adhering to the traditional style. Turn over the history of China.
Picture scroll, a vivid example of respecting teachers and emphasizing morality, comes to the fore. Although the teacher's road was strictly occupied at that time.
Has the upper hand, but does not always emphasize respect for teachers, Xunzi believes that "learning can not be done, young, take it from."
Blue, but bluer than blue; Ice, water, but colder than water. "It is said that as long as you study hard, you can.
Overtake the teacher. He correctly views the relationship between teachers and students from the dialectical relationship of learning.
In terms of learning, although there are many students who take the self-taught exams, after all, they can't live without teachers, so Han Yu said
"Ancient scholars must have teachers", because teachers are responsible for "preaching, teaching and dispelling doubts".
This is also the truth of the story "Chengmen Sydney" mentioned at the beginning of the article.
From the perspective of being a teacher, we should not be conceited, but should remember that "people are suffering, but they are doing good."
Teacher ",a good teacher is self-righteous, and it will be short-lived over time.
In learning, respecting teachers is a virtue of students, but students are not necessarily inferior to teachers. This is a thing.
The law of development. /kloc-David, a famous British scientist in the 0 th and 9 th centuries, once instructed Faraday and later France.
Lardy has surpassed David in research and invention. Lu Xun studied under Zhang Taiyan and Mr. Fujino, while Lu Xun's
Both knowledge and achievements are much higher than those of the second division. But Lu Xun holds the feeling that "once he enters his master's school, he will never forget it".
Love, always respect the second division, very respect. Lu Xun's respect for teachers is sincere.
It is reported that rural and local leaders and ordinary people in neighboring Japan met teachers on the road.
Then he stood on his side and bowed. "Hello, sir!" The teacher led the students across the street, and the police respected them first.
Ceremony, order them to give priority. At present, in Huayu, "respecting teachers and attaching importance to teaching" and "respecting teachers and attaching importance to teaching"
Strong wind is a symbol of the country's prosperity. And strict teachers should also form an atmosphere, because "every way of learning,
Strict teachers are embarrassed, strict teachers are respectful, and respect makes people know what they have learned. "Being a teacher is not rigorous enough to teach well.
A good student, a good style of study is difficult to form.
Respect the teacher and fear his teachings.

In the long history of China for thousands of years, "respecting teachers and valuing morality" has always been regarded as a traditional virtue, and all walks of life pay attention to respecting teachers and valuing morality. So, why should people respect teachers? Han Yu said: "Teachers are teachers, so they preach, teach and dispel doubts." People value what they preach, so they respect teachers. Tao is invisible, but appears in people's consciousness. With this awareness, people will naturally pay attention to him. Due to people's different ideologies, the forms of Tao are also different. However, although Tao is invisible, teachers are the concentrated embodiment of Tao. We can learn from teachers and solve all kinds of doubts. We learn Tao, the teacher gives Tao, and Tao connects us with the teacher, who is always in front of Tao. A classmate once said a famous saying to me, which I like very much. She said, "Where there is a source, there is a river, and where there is a river, there are countless waves." The road is man-made, and the road is man-made. The Tao itself originates from people, and those who can find the Tao are also teachers. Confucius founded the Confucian school, and his Tao has been passed down to this day. His Tao is extremely wonderful, and Confucius himself is extremely great, so later generations called Confucius "the teacher of all ages." It can be seen that with a teacher, there will be a steady stream of Tao that can be passed down, and with these Tao, there will be teachers, Tao and disciples of future generations. As the saying goes: "The waves behind the Yangtze River push the waves before, and one wave pushes another." Therefore, the teacher is like a source, the Tao is like a river, and countless waves are disciples, and these disciples are the teachers of future generations, passing on the Tao to future generations. If we only pay attention to the seemingly wide river and don't respect the source, then once the source dries up, the back waves will disappear with it. At that time, even the wide river was still just a stagnant water. Therefore, we must respect teachers first, because this "respect for teachers" is the way we seek "Tao". We might as well look at the ancient respect for teachers. There is such a record in Historical Records: After the death of Confucius, his disciple Zi Gong built a hut next to the teacher's grave, lived alone in it and kept filial piety for the teacher until three years later. Since the pre-Qin period, Confucian scholars have always respected teachers and attached importance to Taoism. The most typical story is the story of "Cheng Menxue Pear". In fact, it is not only Confucianism that respects teachers, but most people in ancient times respect teachers, even the emperor above ten thousand people should respect teachers. When the son of heaven appointed a Buddhist teacher, all the civil and military officials in the Qing Dynasty, including the son of heaven himself, had to bow down to the teacher. It can be seen that respecting teachers and attaching importance to teaching is an eternal truth. There are also many examples in Buddhism: Master Hui Ke, the second ancestor of Zen Buddhism, kneels in the snow, which embodies the spirit of "respecting teachers and valuing Taoism".
However, respecting teachers in Buddhism is different from respecting teachers in general society. In Li Meng Wen Jing, Buddha Sakyamuni said: "The word' learning Dharma' was robbed by the teacher but not returned, not to mention that Master guided the whole road to becoming a Buddha. Poor robbery cannot be reported. " Therefore, for the sake of Tao, all Buddhist disciples must respect Master. There are many records about learning from others in Buddhist classics. For example, Misha's Outline of Law says, "We should treat the monk Aguoli as a Buddha, respect the teacher, always be close to him, act according to the law, be like a teacher, and always obey ...". Why does Buddhism repeatedly emphasize respecting teachers and valuing Taoism? Tantric master Xia said: "The root of Mahayana is good knowledge. If you don't respect good knowledge, you can't have any Tao. " It can be seen that Buddhist disciples not only respect teachers because of kindness, but also respect teachers if they want to get the way out. In fact, Master himself did not ask us to respect him. What we respect is Tao and law. There is a saying in Buddhism: "Buddhism seeks obedience." Think of our giant Buddha, who abandoned his throne and became a monk. After six years of asceticism, I was eclipsed by a hemp and a wheat, and then I realized the Tao under the bodhi tree, and then I spread the Buddhism of later generations. How difficult it is! So Buddhism is very precious. If we don't respect teachers, but only stress importance, how can Master pass on such precious Buddhism to such a person who doesn't even pay attention to the basic way of respecting teachers? As the saying goes: "The foundation is unfavorable, and Dafa is difficult to tolerate." Because those who receive Buddhism bear the heavy responsibility of spreading Buddhism to the three realms and keeping the dharma pulse clean, they are also teachers of man and nature. A person who does not respect teachers lacks the way to respect teachers. Who is qualified to accept such precious laws? Therefore, a master with pure knowledge will not pass on the supreme Tao to such people, nor will the Tao pass on to those who are far away. Even if master preaches to such people, he will not achieve anything. "Heart of King Kong" said: "It is better to be close to the professor than to practice dharma, and to practice day and night according to his professor is equivalent to practicing the cause of hell." It can be seen that if you don't respect the teacher, you can't find a way out like the law. Even if there is, I'm afraid it won't move in the Taoist world. I think everyone knows that Milarepa is a great success, and his respect for the guru can be said to be impeccable. Before becoming a monk, Master practiced black dharma and killed many people with spells, which resulted in heavy karma. Therefore, when Master first went to seek Dharma from guru Maba, the guru did not teach him any Dharma and tortured him in every way. The guru ordered the master to carry the stone up the mountain nine times and build his own house. Whenever he wants to build a house, he will order the master to tear it down, move the stones down the mountain, move it up the mountain to build a house, and then tear it down, and so on for nine times. The master's back was bruised with three big holes because of his back stone, and his blood flowed, but Guru Maba still beat him and scolded him, but he didn't preach any Buddhism. However, Master Milarepa did not waver in his confidence in the guru, and he still respected the guru as his father's dutiful son. Of course, our master Milarepa finally got the message from guru Maba and became a wise teacher respected by later generations. At this point, it is not difficult for us to draw a conclusion: "Only by respecting teachers can we get the way of Buddhism."
We talked about "respecting teachers and stressing morality" above. To put it another way, "respect teachers and attach importance to teaching". We Buddhist disciples seek Tao, practice Buddhism and then prove Tao all our lives. Even if it respects teachers and emphasizes morality, its purpose is to emphasize morality; So the Buddha asked his disciples to smell it and think about it. If master passes on Buddhism to his disciples, they will not be freed after all if they do not attach importance to cultivation. Respecting the teacher blindly without respecting the Tao can only be regarded as filial piety, not as a device. Therefore, a disciple must have the guidance of Master before he can be liberated. This is also one of the reasons why disciples want to return to Taoism. Secondly, only by emphasizing Taoism can disciples understand Taoism and distinguish between good and evil, so as to carry forward the right law and abandon the evil law. Being a teacher in the future will not lead others astray. This involves another way of being a teacher. To be a teacher, you should be able to teach your disciples Tao, teach your disciples business and solve your disciples' doubts; In addition, teachers in Buddhism should have ten virtues, if not all, at least two virtues: discipline and compassion. And these two virtues are the way of Buddhism. In fact, the teacher's responsibility is to devote himself to the promotion of the Tao, to teach his disciples the way of liberation with compassion, to guide them to return to the holy position, to be a teacher, to continue the right path, and to let more people hear the Tao and get rid of it. Therefore, a teacher should not only pay attention to his own Tao, but also pay attention to the Tao of future generations with compassion. Emphasis, light, clear priorities. Therefore, teachers should focus on the right path, not on non-Tao such as fame and profit. If being a teacher is more important than being a teacher, then no matter whether the teacher still has the right path to pass on, he can't be regarded as a "teacher of reason." If such a teacher passes on the Tao, I'm afraid our Tao will die halfway. As the saying goes: "Tao does not respect teachers, and teachers are strict and then respect Tao." It can be seen that a teacher is like his teacher, and the key point is to focus on Tao. At that time, when Zen master Hongren, the fifth ancestor of Zen Buddhism, wanted to inherit the mantle, his disciples all thought it should be passed on to Master Shen Xiu. The Zen master did not pass on the mantle to the master, because he did not reach the realm of enlightenment. On the contrary, after reading master Huineng's ode, he resolutely took the risk of passing on the mantle to master Huineng. At that time, Master Huineng was not only dangerous, but also questioned by everyone. However, regardless of personal interests, Hongren Jackson personally sent Master Huineng away in a boat in the middle of the night. And our master Huineng finally started meditation. Hong Ren Zen Master is a typical teacher who attaches great importance to Taoism. If Zen master Hong Ren didn't pay attention to Taoism, but paid more attention to himself after inheriting the mantle, and was afraid of getting into trouble and passed it on to Master Shen Xiu, then maybe we won't recognize Zen master Hong Ren as the fifth ancestor of Zen today, and maybe Zen will not be so prosperous in today's Buddhist circles. The ancients said, "Private learning flourishes while teachers decline." Therefore, here, it is not difficult for us to draw another conclusion, that is, "those who follow the path are teachers of reason."
In fact, respecting teachers is not only a matter for disciples, but also a matter for teachers. Of course, we won't ask the teacher what to do, but we can ask ourselves. In front of "respecting teachers", disciples are us, but in front of "respecting teachers", we are also teachers. So, classmates, let's work together, strive together and pursue the right path unremittingly. Perhaps, many years later, you will tell future generations to "respect teachers and pay attention to Taoism." I sincerely hope that you will not forget these two sentences, that is, respecting teachers and stressing morality will give you the way to learn, and stressing virtue will make you a rational teacher.
