Because my grandma’s family is in Liujiafan, I have a special affection for this place. But every time I go there, I come and go in a hurry, and I don’t really understand or explore the local customs in depth. In March, it is a great day after a long period of cloudy weather. The County Writers Association organized members of provincial and municipal writers associations in the county to carry out a "Half-day Tour to Feidong" literary gathering activity. I was fortunate to be invited to go with it.
For this collection activity, the County Federation of Literary and Art Circles arranged many scenic spots in the county, and the content was very rich. It included both natural landscapes and cultural landscapes; both historical relics and modern styles. The writers who were traveling together toured the sights and listened to the introductions by the staff of the County Cultural Relics Management Office, and kept taking pictures with the cameras in their hands.
When our group entered Liujiafan, everyone was deeply attracted by the profound cultural heritage here. According to the staff of the County Cultural Affairs Bureau who were traveling with me, most of the residents in Liujiafan have the surname Wu. There are many talents in the village, such as generals of the Huai Army, deputy chief of the navy during the Beiyang Warlord period, acting chief general, major general of the Kuomintang, etc. Most of them had high official positions and carried out extensive construction projects and built houses and land in their hometowns, which made Liujiafan unprecedentedly prosperous.
According to historical records, there are six large areas of ancient residential buildings in Liujiafan. There are 13 buildings and 33 streets, with 205 main houses, 111 wing rooms and 5 lanes; 2 gardens; 1 public and private ancestral hall; and 1 Wanghu Tower. These houses are all Hui-style buildings, with brick and wood structures, fine brick and wood carvings, blue bricks and gray tiles, and mountain-wide eaves. Each house is equipped with wind and fire walls on both sides, and the construction work is exquisite. The ancient houses in Liujiafan were demolished and rebuilt due to many reasons such as the arrival of the rehabilitation hospital in the early 1950s, the garrison of troops, the destruction of the Four Olds during the Communist Party of China and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and they have been changed beyond recognition. Some only have houses left. Outlines, some have become empty courtyards with only two precious tree species left, and some have naturally collapsed due to lack of care? So far, there are still images of ancient buildings, and there are 3 that can be restored to their original appearance through renovation, ***8 There are 95 main rooms and 55 wing rooms in Building 21 Road.
The Liujiafan ancient dwellings cluster combines the style of one family in the north and south of the ancient dwellings, and has been improved to form a unique family building complex of Liujiafan ancient dwellings. There are two better-preserved places now. One is the residence of Wu Yuren, a general of the Huai Army, from the rank of commander-in-chief to the commander-in-chief, and the admiral Jin Shi Jianwei. The other is the residence of Wu Yuren, a general of the Huai Army and the chief envoy to Tianjin. The residence of Wu Yulan and his younger brother. The two buildings are magnificent and the carvings are exquisite.
Liujiafan ancient residential complex is a complex of buildings in the late Qing Dynasty. It is an ancient village residential area with a history of more than 100 years. The ancient residential complex has experienced hundreds of years of vicissitudes and natural and man-made destruction, and has been preserved to this day. , it’s really valuable. In 1989, it was listed as the second batch of county-level key cultural relics protection units. The Liujiafan ancient residential complex is the largest ancient building complex in the Jianghuai region. It is also the historical and cultural context of the hometown of overseas Chinese and has a profound cultural foundation.
Fortunately, in recent years, the county cultural management department has increased its protection efforts and is repairing this ancient residential complex, which will gradually restore its historical appearance for people to visit and remember.
To the west of Liujiafan, near Chaohu Lake, there is an ancient pagoda called Zhenhu Pagoda. This pagoda is the Feng Shui pagoda of the Wu clan in Liujiafan. The tower is hexagonal, 12 feet high, and has 7 floors. It was built in the 18th year of Guangxu's reign in the Qing Dynasty. There is a crane painted on the top of the uppermost floor of the tower, which is about to fly in the sky, vigorous and graceful. There are copper bells attached to the corners of each floor of the tower. Whenever the wind blows, the bells make a tinkling sound, which is quite reminiscent of the ancient times. Climbing the tower and looking into the distance is a great place to have a panoramic view of Chao Lake. This pagoda is also the only well-preserved ancient pagoda in Hefei. The tower was also in disrepair and was somewhat tilted and damaged. Fortunately, in order to cooperate with the development of tourism resources along Chaohu Lake, it will be developed into a tourist attraction. The current situation of the tower has attracted the attention of relevant departments. In 1996, special funds were allocated for repairs and preparations were made to build supporting attractions.
On the west side of Zhenhu Tower, there is a garden-style farmhouse leisure place. Various scenic trees are planted in the garden, which is known as the "Red Ten Tsui" and is close to the shore of the 800-mile Chao Lake. Here, you can experience farm life while overlooking the vast Chao Lake. It is really a rare place for leisure.
On the shore of Chaohu Lake, due to years of wind and waves, a natural beach has formed. There are various kinds of shells on the beach. The babies who are traveling with them pick up the shells and hit the lake surface with stones, causing a series of ripples. Standing here, you can clearly see the modern high-rise buildings rising from the ground in the Binhu New District opposite. They complement each other with the vast lake and the boats going back and forth, just like a beautiful and spectacular ink painting.
?Half-day tour to Feidong?Although the activity was short, everyone visited Ma's Xiangtang, the Chairman's Former Residence, Liujiafan Wu's Ancestral Hall, Ancient Residential Groups, and Zhenhu Lake with great interest Towers, Zuozhen bunkers, etc., there are many experiences. For me, revisiting Liujiafan is a completely different world, and I feel the rewards I have never experienced before.
