Why should the tombs of emperors in Qing Dynasty be divided into East Mausoleum and West Mausoleum?
The specific reasons are still being debated by historians! There are many kinds of sayings. Mainly because of Yong Zhengdi. Some people say that he didn't dare to be buried with his father Kangxi after his death because of his improper position. Others say that he chose another blessed land to build a mausoleum in the Qing Xiling just because of Feng Shui. His son, Emperor Qianlong, followed the Zhao Mu system, and his father and son were buried in the Qing Dongling. Since then, the emperors of the Qing Dynasty have adopted the Zhao Mu system and were buried in the East and Xiling tombs respectively, but there are exceptions.
