1, diary of a madman

Diary of a Madman, written in April of 19 18, is the first short vernacular diary novel written by Lu Xun and the first modern vernacular novel written by China. This article was first published on May 19 18 in No.5, Volume 4 of New Youth, and was later included in Scream and compiled into Volume 1 of Complete Works of Lu Xun.

Through the image of the persecuted madman and the self-description of the madman, the novel reveals the "cannibalism" essence of feudal ethics, and shows the author's resistance to China feudal culture with feudal ethics as its main connotation. It also shows the author's profound sense of repentance.

From the standpoint of radical "revolutionary democracy", the author deeply reflected on China's culture, and at the same time expressed his deep concern and indignation for China and even the future of mankind.

2. A brief history of China's novels

A Brief History of Chinese Novels is the first monograph written by Lu Xun, a modern writer, which systematically discusses the development history of China's novels. This monograph, from ancient myths and legends to condemnation novels in the late Qing Dynasty, comprehensively discusses the origin and evolution of China's novels, accurately evaluates the representative novelists and works in various historical periods in China, and deeply analyzes the internal relations between the novels in the early and late periods.

When discussing the development and evolution of China's novels, the author not only looks for clues from the literature itself, but also pays special attention to the phenomenon of novel literature in a certain social background, analyzes the influence of political and economic conditions, social atmosphere and academic thoughts on novels at that time, and expounds the law of the development of China's novels from the perspective of their mutual relationship, function and reaction.

With profound insights, rich materials and clear clues, he gave a concise summary of the historical development of China's novels. The monograph is rich in materials, accurate in analysis, rigorous in structure, clear in context and rich in content, which fills the gap in the history of novel research.

3. The Book of Two Places

The first part of The Book of Two Places is about a female normal university, without any affection or love. The second part is the communication between Xiamen and Guangzhou. There are many trivial things in life, and love is beyond words. The third part is the communication between Beijing and Shanghai, which is also full of trivial matters, and the feelings of concern are beyond words.

I think all intellectuals in China should know something about Lu Xun. At that time, Lu Xun was a banner of China culture, not only a representative of new culture, but also a signpost for young intellectuals, and a cultural direction of the times. Mao Zedong once spoke highly of Lu Xun, which I think should be recognized by most people in China.

But not many people know about Xu Guangping. And most of them stay at the level of "Mrs. Lu Xun". Under the aura of Lu Xun, it is difficult to shine again.

4. "Morning flowers and evening flowers"

Flowers in the morning gather in the evening, formerly known as Remembrance of Time Past, is a collection of essays by modern writer Lu Xun, including 10 reminiscence essays written by Lu Xun in 1926, published by Beijing Weiming Society in 1928, and now included in the second volume of Complete Works of Lu Xun.

As a "memoir of memories", this anthology reflects the author Lu Xun's teenage life in many ways and vividly reflects the formation of his character and interest.

The first seven articles reflect his childhood life in Shaoxing's private school, and the last three articles describe his experiences from his hometown to Nanjing, then to study in Japan, and then to return to China to teach.

It exposes all kinds of ugly and unreasonable phenomena in semi-feudal and semi-colonial society, reflects the difficult course of young intellectuals with aspirations in the darkness of old China, and expresses the author's nostalgia for his former relatives, friends and teachers.

The anthology is mainly based on notes, full of strong lyrical atmosphere, often accompanied by discussion, which makes lyric, narrative and discussion integrated, beautiful and harmonious, simple and touching. The works are poetic, punctuated by humor and fables; Vivid image, distinctive style and strong appeal.

5. Scream

Scream is a collection of short stories written by modern writer Lu Xun. Including 19 18 to 1922 written by Lu Xun. First published by Beijing Xinchao Society in 1923, it is now included in the Complete Works of Lu Xun, Volume 1.

The collection of novels truly depicts the social life from the Revolution of 1911 to the May 4th Movement, and reveals various deep-seated social contradictions from the perspective of revolutionary democracy, aiming at enlightenment and humanitarianism.

In this paper, the old China system and some outdated traditional concepts are deeply analyzed and thoroughly denied, showing a strong sense of national survival and a strong hope for social change.
