Ubercup badminton is actually the World Women's Badminton Team Championship, which is the highest level women's badminton team competition in the world.
Uber Cup was founded by IBF on 1956. It is held every two years.
With the vigorous development of Thomas Cup, the world men's badminton team championship, Mrs. Uber, who was active in the world badminton in the 1930s and 1940s (Mrs. Uber's full name was Betty Uber, a famous British badminton player in the 1930s, and won the women's singles, women's doubles and mixed doubles competitions in the All-England badminton championship for many times during the period of 1930- 1949).
After retirement, Mrs Uber still has a soft spot for badminton. In order to promote the development of badminton, she officially donated a commemorative cup made by Maipiy and Weber to the International Badminton Federation at the Council meeting of 1956, and personally presided over the lottery ceremony of the first Uber Cup competition.
