Brief introduction of Asian youth football championship
AFC U- 16 Championship is the highest-level youth football tournament held by AFC in Asia, and it is also the Asian regional qualifier of FIFA U-U 17 World Cup (formerly the World Youth Football Championship). 1984, in order to be in line with the first World Youth Football Championship, the AFC held the Asian Youth Football Championship for the first time. The final stage of the Asian Youth Football Championship was at 1985, when it was U 17. Starting from 1986, the final stage of the Asian Games was advanced to the year before the World Games, and the Asian Games was changed to U 16. Before 2006, the top three players in the Asian Youth Games will be eligible to participate in the World Youth Games. From 2008, the top four players of the Asian Youth Games will be qualified to participate in the U 17 World Cup, so the finals of the Asian Youth Games will be cancelled. Historically, China National Youth Men's Football Team has won two Asian Youth Championships and three third places.
