Heng Tang bang ge
The horizontal pond is located outside the dike pond in the southwest of Xianghu Lake. Legend has it that Bambusa bambusa (a kind of Arundo donax) was planted on the pond earlier and turned into a forest. Because the dialect "Heng" is homophonic with "Huang", it is commonly called "Huangzhutang". Wei Ji's poem "Huang Zhu Vaguely Fan Li Tang" in Ming Dynasty refers to this.
