In the Tang Dynasty, male Taoist priests were called Huang Guan and female Taoist priests were called female crowns. Yang Yuhuan in the Xuanzong period of the Tang Dynasty was once the female crown.
Although the title of folk Taoist is incorrect, it is also out of respect and without malice. Monks are abstinent, don't want fame and fortune, don't get angry because of a name, and don't care about this.
To sum up, when we meet female Taoist priests in Taoist temples, we just need to call them Taoist priests, nuns and female crowns. For ordinary Taoists, it is enough to call them Taoists.
