Formation and evolution
The evolution process of cracking and reassembly of Xinjiang plate in the early and middle Paleozoic, from the Middle Cambrian to the late Carboniferous, completed the complicated history of continental plate expansion, separation and subduction collision, and finally formed the basic structural framework of Xinjiang today, ending the evolution stage of cracking and reassembly of multi-plates and land in the early and middle Paleozoic and entering the same plate, that is, the tectonic evolution stage of land.
From the late Paleozoic to the present, the embryonic form of Eurasian plate has been formed in the late Carboniferous and early Permian in Xinjiang. Xinjiang has become a part of this global giant plate, but on its south side, it is also facing the closure of the Paleo-Tethys Ocean, the opening and final closure of the Neo-Tethys Ocean and the formation of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, which finally contributed to the tectonic subsidence lake-Sailimu Lake.
