But when Zhu Yuanzhang was seventeen years old, there was a famine in the Huaihe River basin, and a plague of locusts followed. His parents and brothers died of famine and plague, leaving only himself and his second brother at home. My parents are dead, and as a son, I want to bury my parents well. But they had no money or land, so they went to ask Liu De, the landlord of the species they rented, to give them a piece of land, but Liu De directly refused their request and drove them away.
But things got better. Liu Jizu, a distant relative of Liu De, heard about it. He felt sorry for the two brothers, so he gave them a piece of land to bury their relatives and let them eat enough. Zhu Yuanzhang and others were very grateful to Liu Jizu and left their hometown the next day to fend for themselves.
After becoming a monk, Zhu Yuanzhang went to Guo Zixing and gradually changed from a pawn to a king of Wu, eventually overthrowing the Yuan Dynasty and establishing the Ming Dynasty. When he became a monarch, his first thought was to bury his parents, but after listening to the words of the Feng Shui master, he was afraid of destroying Zhu Jialong's Long Mai, so he chose to build the imperial tomb in situ. Of course, he also went to Liu Jizu, but Liu Jizu had already passed away. In order to thank him, he was hereditary and was replaced by the Ming Dynasty, which means that all his descendants can inherit the marquis.
