The natural environment of Lingshui Village

The ancestors of Lingshui chose the site to build the village based on the "Feng Shui" theory, decided on the "Four Gods Sand" and established Xuanwu (turtle-shaped) as the village shape. The village is surrounded by mountains, with Huoshan Mountain in the front and Lotus Mountain in the back. It is built on the mountain spring. The water flows around the village, forming a natural pattern of "harmony between man and nature". The ancient residences in Lingshui Village are a model of rural residential architecture in northern China during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and their original appearance is well preserved. There are more than 20 Ming Dynasty residences and more than 100 Qing Dynasty residences.

There are three stone streets in front and behind Lingshui Village, with stacked houses clustered together, and ancient dwellings scattered in an orderly manner. Among the well-preserved "Juren Residences", those of Liu Maohuan, Liu Zengguang, Tan Ruilong, Liu Mingfei and others are the most elegant and exquisite. The buildings are of brick and tile structure, with blue bricks and gray tiles, with a reasonable layout and complete gate towers, screen walls and stone steps. The stone carvings, carvings and paintings, house doors and couplets reflect the profound cultural connotation.

Lingshui Village is backed by Dushan Lianhua Peak and faces Qingshui River in front. There are ancient wells, ancient mills, ancient houses, temples, shops, and parasitic trees. There are natural treasures and outstanding people. In particular, the prefect Liu Maoheng and Juren Liu Zengguang were the most famous for advocating humility and charity, so they were named Juren Village in the west of Beijing. The village's thousand-year-old trees "Baibaoyu" and "Baibaomulberry" are unique in Kyoto; the ancient ginkgo "monoecious" is the only one here. Wujin "siheyuan" is rare in mountainous areas; Lingquan Temple was built in the Han Dynasty and has a long history. Thirty-six grindings, a gentleman does not fight, seventy-two wells, drinking water remembers its source. Kuixing Tower and Wenchang Pavilion are full of literary stars; there are famous singers and famous doctors, and the teachers are excellent. There are many Confucian businessmen, all over Beijing and Tianjin, with eight major business names; they respect teachers and value education and pass it on from generation to generation.

Not far to the northeast of Zhaitang is the famous ancient village Lingshui Village. Originally called "Lengshui" or "Lingshui", it is a village in the valley, but it has abundant water sources. It is said that there were 72 wells in the village.
