Regarding these two statements, the author prefers the Sui Dynasty. First of all, Emperor Yang Guang of Yang Di is famous for advocating Buddhism. Before he ascended the throne, he hosted a banquet for Zhi Zhi, a Tiantai master, to Yangzhou. Secondly, he also built two temples-Huiri Temple and Fayun Temple. After Yang Guang ascended the throne, he promoted Buddhism all over the country, so it is credible to say that the Temple Gate Tower was built in the Sui Dynasty.
So, how to explain the statement that the former Qin dynasty built a tower? The former Qin Dynasty was one of the sixteen countries in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, which existed for 44 years. There are six emperors, one of whom is called Fu Jian. This Fu Jian is as obsessed with Buddhism as Emperor Yang Di. He once sent 100,000 troops to attack Xiangyang, just to grab a monk who had a Taoist name. A few years later, Fu Jian heard that there was a monk from Kumarajiva in Qiuci, so he sent 200,000 troops to destroy Qiuci and brought it back to Kumarajiva. Although Fu Jian sent troops to destroy other countries for the sake of eminent monks, the architectural style of Simen Pagoda seems to be closer to that of the Sui Dynasty.
Before introducing Simen Pagoda, let's talk about Shentong Temple. Shentong Temple was originally named Langgong Temple. In the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the monk Langgong came to Kunrui Mountain in Shandong Province. Look at it, which is surrounded by mountains and rivers and picturesque. It's really a rare land of geomantic omen! Shentong Temple, the earliest Buddhist temple in Shandong, was built.
Let's talk about the Simen Pagoda in detail. The building material of Simen Pagoda is not ordinary wood, but bluestone. Simen Pagoda is built on a platform with a height of about 1 meter. The whole tower is about 15 meters high, almost the height of a five-story building. Plane square, each side is about 7 meters wide, each with an arch. The outer wall of the tower is about 80 cm thick. Inside the Simen Pagoda, there is a huge square column made of stone, and there is a Buddha statue in front of each column.
About the four pagodas, such a thrilling "stealing Buddha's head" incident happened!
1on the morning of March 8, 997, Li Chunyou, the doorman of Ximen Tower, came to work and was puzzled to see one of the doors of Ximen Tower open. So I called my colleague Tian Naisheng who locked the door last night.
Tian Naisheng clearly remembers that the door was locked before he left yesterday, and the two secretly complained. Walking into the tower, I saw that the Buddha's head in the east was stolen!
The two immediately called the police and the police immediately launched an investigation. The technical conditions more than 20 years ago were very different from today. In the case of insufficient hardware, the task force moved to Jinan, Zaozhuang, Zibo, Zhengzhou, Beijing and other places in two months. After many investigations, all the clues point to Yang Yingli, Li Shuanqun, Li Shuanhui and Liu. However, when the police arrived at the four people's homes, the suspect had already disappeared.
Two years later, Yang Yingli was arrested by the police when she was in Guangzhou. So as to bring the remaining three suspects to justice. Everyone has been found, so where did the Buddha head go?
This is the biggest problem in front of the task force! According to Yang Yingli's account, the Buddha's head was sold to a cultural relic dealer in the south for 60,000 yuan, but the whereabouts were unknown.
In 2002, Fengjun Liu, director of the Institute of Fine Arts and Archaeology of Shandong University, received a phone call from Taipei. The caller is a Buddhist culture lover named Chen. When they talked about the theft of the Buddha's head in the four pagodas, the woman surnamed Chen said that a friend bought a Buddha's head, which was very similar in shape to the Buddha's head in the four pagodas. In order to further confirm whether what the woman surnamed Chen said is really the Buddha's head of the Simen Pagoda, Fengjun Liu sent her a photo of the Buddha's head and asked her to send a photo of the Buddha's head bought by a friend.
The Buddha's head in the photo is obviously the Buddha's head stolen from the Simen Pagoda by/kloc-0 in 997.
In this way, the Buddha's head, who lived outside for more than five years, was finally found and escorted back to the Simen Pagoda by a special person on June 5438+February 65438+July 2002.
20 18 The Propaganda Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security plans to shoot the "Four Pagodas Case" against the background of the theft of the Buddha's head by the Four Pagodas. On April 6, the main creative staff of the crew made a special trip to the Propaganda Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security to discuss shooting matters.
I hope this "Four Pagodas Case" can be published as soon as possible, so that more friends can know about this cultural relic theft that shocked the whole country!
