Eighteen kinds of martial arts
Refers to various common weapons in martial arts. It was first seen in the Song Dynasty drama "Zhang Xie Zhuangyuan" and later generations. Multiple explanations. First, "Selected Songs of the Yuan Dynasty: The Romantic Wang Huan Baihua Pavilion" compiled by Qi Jinshu in the Ming Dynasty: "If you talk about eighteen kinds of martial arts, bows, spears, spears, spears, swords and halberds, whips, chains, boring hammers." Second, between the Yuan and Ming Dynasties. The second chapter of "Water Margin" written by Shi Naian: "The eighteen martial arts include spears, hammers, bows and blunderbuss, whips, swords, chains, axes and halberds, sticks and spears." Thirdly, Xie Zhao during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty Xi's "Wuzazu": "Eighteen generals: one bow, two swords, three spears, four swords, five swords, six spears, seven shields, eight axes, nine axes, ten halberds, eleven whips, twelve maces, "Thirteen Laos, Fourteen Punches, Fifteen Crosses, Sixteen Heads, Seventeen Cotton Ropes, Eighteen White Dou"
In later generations, "nine longs and nine shorts" and "six shorts" also appeared. "Twelve long", as well as "big eighteen generals", "small eighteen generals" and other martial arts content theories. Comprehensive content of the "Eighteen Martial Arts" of the past dynasties, deleting duplications, ***includes the following categories:
Projectile weapons include: bows, crossbows, arrows, arrows, and blunderbuss.
Long weapons include: Ge, spear, lance, stick, pummel, pestle, rod, staff, stick, axe, ax, halberd, and broadsword.
Short weapons include: sword, knife, whip, mace (simple), hook, sickle, hammer, crutch, ring (circle)
Soft weapons include: chain , shooting stars, cotton rope roping.
Bare-handed martial arts are collectively referred to as "white fighting". These categories mentioned in the "Eighteen Martial Arts" of the past dynasties do not include all weapons.
For example, flying knives, sleeve arrows, three-pointed two-edged knives, prongs, daggers, mandarin ducks, yin and yang sharps, Zhuangyuan pens, iron rulers, rope darts, three-section sticks, etc. are not included. As for the many "strange weapons" made by swords written by martial arts novelists, it is even more difficult to collect them all.
Nine-appearing dragons and ghosts see sorrow
A rare golden dragon whip in the world. At first glance, it looks like a golden dragon. The dragon's horns stretch out left and right, and the dragon's mouth opens, spitting out A green tongue. The scary thing about it is that it has nine magical functions: its whole body is covered with scales, which can not only stick to hidden weapons; the dragon's horns are divided into slits, which can dominate the soft weapons of all sects in the sky; the dragon's tongue stretches straight out and hits people's acupuncture points; The open mouth of the dragon is used to bite people's swords like poking out objects; in addition, a pair of dragon's eyes are thunderbolt firearms. Thirteen "Ziwu Centripetal Nails" can be shot out of the dragon's mouth. When blood seals the throat, the child will not live until noon. When necessary, all the mixed dragon scales can be shot out to hurt people unexpectedly. It is certainly difficult for ordinary people in the martial arts to escape from this weapon. Even those masters and celebrities will die violently if they do not know the details.
Jiang Xiaoyu discovered this dangerous weapon in the tunnel. He was afraid that it would harm the world, so he destroyed it with a sharp blade. (See "Peerless Two Prides" by Gu Long)
Knife
A weapon famous for its powerful, heroic and tiger-like style, ranking first among the eighteen weapons. Zheng Shiyuan, a poet of the Qing Dynasty, described it this way: "Autumn water flies around the wrists, and ice flowers scatter all over the body. The soft eyes wrap around the limbs, and they are delicate and motionless. The shining silver sea shakes, and the moon rolls round and round. The sound of the sound scares the White Emperor, and the light loses youth." The murderous spirit is rising in the sky, the ghosts and gods are crying in the cold light, and the purple sleeves are dancing, and the air is full of smoke."
According to "Shi Ming": "The sword is used to cut down where it belongs. Also. "Bronze knives existed during the Yin and Shang Dynasties. By the Western Zhou Dynasty, the shape of the knives had changed. The blade handle has no obvious boundary, the handle is slightly thicker, and there is a circular perforation near the blade. According to legend, the "Kunwu" sword was the most famous in the Western Zhou Dynasty, but the heyday of sword use was only after the emergence of cavalry as an independent branch during the Warring States Period. Many pottery figurines with the image of cavalry have been discovered from the Mausoleum of Qin Shihuang, but the large number of cavalry was only used from the late Qin to the early Western Han Dynasty. Accompanied by cavalry from the late Qin Dynasty to the early Western Han Dynasty. With the development of cavalry, the shape of the sword has not only changed, but its combat role has also become important. In combat, riding a horse and using a sword to chop and chop can block or stab, which is obviously better than the straight thrust of a sword.
The knives of the Han Dynasty had a straight spine and an edge. There was no obvious difference between the handle and the blade. The first end of the handle was without exception made into an oblate ring shape, which was called "ring-handled knife" or "ring-handled knife". "Huanshou sword." This kind of sword is widely used from Korea and Japan in the east, to the Xiongnu in the north, to Dayuezhi in the west, and to Annan in the south. Especially after it was spread eastward to Japan, it became the ancestor of Japanese swords. At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, ring-handled knives suitable for chopping had become the main weapon on the battlefield. By the Three Kingdoms, the only short-sighted soldiers equipped in large numbers in the army were knives. The manufacturing of knives is also more sophisticated. For example, Zhuge Liang asked Pu Yuan to forge a knife that is "unparalleled in the world, so it is called the magic knife." Knife not only fights, but also has routines for sparring. For example, the "Book of Wu" records: "When drunk, people dance with swords." After the Southern and Northern Dynasties, the sword has always been an important weapon. Li Bai's poem "Joining the Army" "Joining the army on the Yumen Road, chasing captives on the golden Weishan Mountain, playing plum blossom music on the flute, and opening the bright moon ring with the sword" reflects the main use of swords in combat at that time.
In "Tang Liudian·Arsenal Regulations", there are only knife systems, but no sword systems. Among them are Yi Dao, Zhang Dao, Heng Dao and Mo Dao. Long-handled knives appeared in the Tang and Song Dynasties. It can be seen from the Song Dynasty's "Wu Jing Zong Yao" that the sword has been further improved. It has been changed from a long and narrow strip to a sharp front and oblique shape with a hand guard, and the oblate ring has been removed.
As the saying goes: "Swords are worn by gentlemen, and swords are worn by thieves." This is somewhat like raising the sword and suppressing the sword. In fact, many people are attracted to Dao's brave and wild character. During the Shang and Zhou dynasties, people decorated their knives with precious jade. Later, literati's poems about knives further expressed people's love for knives: "When the emperor went to the golden palace, he carried only precious knives with him." (Cen Shen of the Tang Dynasty) "From Don't let your soul be melancholy, look at the treasured sword." (Gao Shi of the Tang Dynasty) "After drinking, you can enjoy the sword with three cups." (Li Bai of the Tang Dynasty) "Leaning on the three-story pavilion, rubbing the seven treasured swords." (Li Shangyin of the Tang Dynasty) It is said that the "Seven Treasure Sword" mentioned by Li Shangyin came from the Later Han Dynasty and was made by Emperor Wen of Wei Cao Pi. The original name of this sword is "Lingbao", because its pattern resembles a turtle, and it is also commonly known as the Qibao sword. It can cut gold and jade. Its whereabouts are unknown. After ancient Chinese ethnic minorities and exotic swords flowed into the Central Plains, their sharpness and sophistication are even more amazing. The Wusun Saber, the Half-breath Sword, the Da Shi Sword, the Haixi National Treasure Sword, the Japanese Double Sword, etc. have all been chanted and praised by poets.
Although knives are also in the hall of elegance, the difference between knives and swords is not necessarily the difference between a robber and a gentleman. However, according to custom, especially when swords are used in situations that are not for the purpose of fighting, two There is a certain difference in the identity of the person. Some researchers have found that the knights in Gu Long's novels rarely use swords every time they use knives, and believe that this reflects Gu Long's civilian consciousness. Indeed, in addition to the famous Xiao Li Feidao, Xiao Shiyilang, Fu Hongxue, Ding Xi, Jiang Duanxian, Hua Cuo, Zhu Meng and other great heroes all used knives. Gu Long believes: "The sword is elegant and belongs to the nobility; the sword is universal and civilian." "The sword is sometimes a gorgeous decoration, and sometimes it is a symbol of identity and status. In a certain Sometimes, it is even a symbol of power and majesty.” Indeed, among other writers of martial arts novels, no one pays as much attention to the meaning of weapons as Gu Long. Reading Gu Long’s works may help us deepen our understanding. Understanding of the character of the knife.
