(1) When the governor was first established, he was often a "correspondent governor" in the province, and worked with the Chief Secretary. After Jingtai and Tianshun, local governors successively opened houses and built official offices. (He Qiaoxin's Notes on the Newly-built Governor's Courtyard, which is contained in the Collection of Ming Jing Shi Wen (Volume 67)) describes the governor's yamen in southern Jiangxi during Hongzhi as follows: five front and rear halls, two corridors in the hall, several gates and instrument porches, dormitories in the east and reward halls in the east. Outside the gate, there are two archways, Fu 'an and Calm. To the south of the screen wall, there are three departments and halls, which are thought to be places for patrolling and preparing for meetings. ..... The dome hall is magnificent, lofty and lofty, with magnificent regulations, which is unprecedented in its town. All the decrees and rewards and punishments are here. This is also where you sent troops, were disciplined and offered sacrifices. If there is relaxation in the administration of the county, it will be white at this point, and then dare to go on strike.
