Unfortunately, this is another era when the mantra spreads rapidly.
I don't know when or where it originated or why. "Investing in Shanhaiguan" has become a familiar mantra in the investment community. Overnight, the cradle of China industry became a trap and a devil to deceive investors, and the original "living Lei Feng" suddenly became synonymous with laziness and conservatism.
Is the business environment in Northeast China really that bad? Is the main reason for the decline of Northeast China really because of poor business environment, outdated thinking and lazy behavior, as everyone thinks?
Although this reason can best satisfy the imagination of all parties, it is not the case.
Although the rise and fall of any region has internal causes, the changes in the external environment are often more subversive.
For example, do you think the development of Shenzhen is due to the fact that "Shenzhen people" are more hardworking, or because the country took the lead in opening up in Shenzhen, which led to the flow of resources and talents from all over the country to Shenzhen and promoted the prosperity of Shenzhen? Maybe you will say that the Northeast can be opened now, but is it the same as opening first and opening generally? In fact, like Shenzhen, the prosperity in the history of Northeast China is precisely because of "opening up first", but the objects of opening up at that time were developed countries and the Soviet Union.
Before opening, Shenzhen was a small fishing village.
Another example is that Detroit, the American automobile city, became a "rust city" and even went bankrupt. Do you think it is because Detroit people are getting lazy, or the trend of industrial transfer is bound to affect?
It used to be the "automobile city" of America.
In fact, the decline of Northeast China is more influenced by changes in the international political and economic structure, mainly due to the decline of the Soviet Union.
The former Soviet Union is a well-deserved developed country, and both its economic aggregate and its scientific and technological strength are the targets of China's study. Therefore, Northeast China, as an open bridgehead, "has the advantage of getting the moon first". By docking with plastics, it has attracted a lot of Soviet investment and its economic base has been growing.
However, with the disintegration of the Soviet Union, the Russian economy plummeted, and the current economic strength and scientific and technological strength can only barely reach the level of developing countries. With the decline of the Soviet Union and the deterioration of the political and military environment in Northeast Asia, neighboring North Korea is increasingly closed, and the economic exchanges between China, Japan and China and South Korea are also facing considerable pressure. The actual value of opening to the northeast is greatly reduced.
Compared with Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Central Plains, the location of Value Northeast is difficult to compare in terms of market capacity and logistics cost, and it is inevitable to be at a disadvantage in the competition.
Of course, it doesn't mean that the business environment in Northeast China doesn't need to be optimized, ideas don't need to be changed, and industries don't need to be transformed and upgraded. Instead, we should understand the main reasons for the decline in Northeast China and take targeted measures.
If the direction is wrong, it's no use trying again.
