Since the founding of New China, a comprehensive archaeological investigation has been conducted on the Mausoleum of the Western Han Dynasty. After scientific on-the-spot investigation and research, it was determined that the former "Han Yuan Emperor Mausoleum" was the Kang Mausoleum of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty. 1On August 6th, 956, Kangling was announced by Shaanxi Provincial People's Committee as the first batch of provincial cultural relics protection units. Previously, in the forty-first year of Qing Qianlong (1776), the tablet of Ling Wei, the Emperor Gaozu, written by Bi Yuan, the governor of Shaanxi Province, was dumped in the field, and the tablet was in ruins. In May 20 16, the staff of Kangling Cultural Management Institute restored the stone tablet, rebuilt the tall stone tablet building, and protected the stone tablet, which was magnificent and dazzling.
Before the Tang Dynasty, people obviously thought this was Kangling. After the Song Dynasty, the location of the Mausoleum of the Western Han Dynasty was not very clear. Because the land surrounded by Kangling is tall, it is mistaken for Ling Wei. At the same time, Ling Wei, Emperor of the Han and Yuan Dynasties, was mistaken for Ping Ling, Emperor of Zhao Han, and the tomb of the Shangguan Empress was mistaken for Kang Ling, Emperor of the Han Dynasty.
