Meitou (Haicheng), according to folklore, the origin of the place name Meitou is related to the local Meigang Mountain. In the past, plum blossoms bloomed all over Meigang Mountain. The ancestors of Meitou felt that this was a geomantic treasure, so they chose the end of Meigang Mountain to live there. The origin of Haicheng is related to the establishment of the inspection department here in the Ming Dynasty. According to historical records, during the Ming Dynasty, in order to fight against Japanese pirates, the imperial court established an inspection department and built a castle in Meitou. Therefore, during the zoning adjustment of Longwan, Mei Tou was changed to Haicheng in consideration of the local special historical origins and people's good wishes.
