If there is no old water, can we use river water to raise fish?

Without old water, you can't directly use river water to raise fish. Before using river water to raise goldfish, we must treat the river water simply.

Raising goldfish with river water also has disadvantages. Some rivers have a lot of silt, floating foam and impurities, and the water color is turbid. Once the water temperature rises in the sun, a large number of organic substances decompose, plankton die and rot, and the water quality is easily polluted, which affects the growth of goldfish. In areas with many factories, a large amount of industrial wastewater is discharged into rivers, and there are many toxic substances such as sulfide and cyanide, which is not conducive to the growth of goldfish. When the concentration of these substances reaches a certain level, goldfish will die.

Treatment of different water quality

There are many kinds of water sources for raising freshwater fish, such as well water, tap water, rivers and lakes, which are easy to obtain. However, the difference of water quality and the limitation of fish adaptability require that water must be treated before it can be used. Generally, it can be treated for 24-48 hours according to the different water quality to make it close to the water quality in the aquarium, and then injected into the aquarium.

Well water is warm in winter and cool in summer, and its PH value is about 7-7.6. Suitable for raising goldfish, especially shallow well water, generally exposed to sunlight 12-36 hours. Tap water is artificially disinfected, with low oxygen content and high chlorine content. It must be exposed for more than 48 hours before use to promote chlorine volatilization before use.
