Prose on Visiting the Ancient Times and Seeking Beauty in Yuan Shang Village, Feixian County

I have long heard that Yuan Shang Village, Zhutian Town, Feixian County, Shandong Province is a beautiful ancient village with a long ancient rhyme and pearls and jade. A few friends and I specially chose an early summer weekend to explore the past and find beautiful scenery.

1.5km from Zhutian Town to the west, you come to Yuan Shang Village hidden in the hinterland of Yimeng Mountain area. Yuan Shang Village is a small mountain village worthy of the name, backed by the rugged Niutou Mountain, facing Wolong Mountain in the east and Yuwugeng, one of the 72 mountains in Yimeng Mountain in the west. However, there has been no drought in Yuan Shang village for a long time, and the mountains are full of running water all year round. The wide Zhutian River flows quietly in front of the village, nourishing this vibrant ancient village. Because it was once the residence of Wang, Dali Temple in Qing Dynasty and Fanglinyuan, a country villa in later generations, it was named "Yuan Shang", a village with quite cultural charm.

Yuan Shang Village has a long history, and there is no evidence to prove which dynasty it was built in. But more than 0/00 meters along the village east/kloc-is the ancient platform, also known as the "immortal platform", which is a cultural site of Shang Dynasty. Taipei has ancient kiln sites, broken tiles and unburned charcoal. At the eastern foot of Niutou Mountain, there are Han people who cover an area of 100 mu. Abundant cultural relics in the middle and late Dawenkou culture have been unearthed, such as red and gray pottery ding, pots, pots, stone shovels and chisels. Although it was destroyed, most of the more than 100 stone reliefs were intact. Among them, Map of Niu Geng is rare in China, and it was once used as the cover illustration of middle school history textbooks.

Water is the source of life. Since ancient times, human beings have understood the truth of living by water. Yuan Shang Village has a long history and beautiful scenery. Because there are many springs and good water, it was chosen as a treasure trove of geomantic omen by our ancestors. According to records, there are five Gu Quan in Yuan Shang Village, namely Qin Quan, Longquan, Pearl Spring, Tianjing Spring and Baihua Spring. Among them, there is a spring in the northeast of the ancient platform, which passes through the wall and surrounds the stone, and falls down in an uproar, sounding like a piano rhyme, named "Qin Quan"; Qin Quan went north and crossed the stream for more than 80 meters. There are strange rocks shaped like faucets. There is a spring between the stones, and the water is like a note, which is called "Longquan"; There is also a clear spring 30 meters away from Longquan, where countless bubbles boil along the water column, such as a string of pearls rolling, which is mysterious and wonderful, so it is called "Pearl Spring"; There is another spring not far from the path on the north side of Pearl Spring. The water is as bright as a mirror, reflecting the blue sky and the picturesque reflection of the green hills, which is called "Tianjing Spring". There is also a spring in the village, and several springs spew out blue flowers with silver supports, which is amazing and named "Baihua Spring".

For thousands of years, Gu Quan has been flowing continuously, nourishing and sheltering everything. People worship Gu Quan for gratitude and regard him as a god. There are some beautiful legends, the most influential of which is Tianjingquan. According to local people, spring water can distinguish good from evil, and people who have done something wrong are exposed here, just like the mythical West Tianbao Mirror. Therefore, the villagers in Yuan Shang have a simple style, respect for the elderly and love for the young, and their neighbors have been harmonious since ancient times.

In order to get a glimpse of Gu Quan, we searched around the village under the enthusiastic guidance of the villagers. However, because things have changed for a long time, we can only see two traces of Gu Quan-"Qin Quan" and "Tianjingquan". Looking northeast along the dirt road under the ancient stage, and along the flowing water at the bottom of the roadside ditch, I found a "Qin Quan" next to a stone tablet with the words "Qin Quan" written on it. There are a lot of springs in Qin Quan. Although the spring is surrounded by stones properly inlaid by villagers, the clear water flowing out from the depths of the spring easily crosses the stone fence and jumps between rocks. A pair of mother-in-law and daughter-in-law are chatting and washing clothes by the spring. Seeing that we were curious about spring water, they introduced: Because this spring water is sweet and clear, warm in winter and cool in summer, although every family has tap water, the villagers still like to use it for cooking, watering the land and washing clothes. ...

The inscription on the stone tablet of Tianjingquan has been blurred, but the three characters of Tianjingquan are still vigorous and powerful. At the lower left, the small characters of "Zhu Tailai, a layman in Xiyuan, to his father" and "Wang Ling and Wang Zaiyuan wrote inscriptions for Zuo Haifu" engraved on the upper right corner of the stone tablet can be vaguely recognized. As the name implies, the spring is open and the water is as bright as a mirror. When you lean down to visit carefully, your appearance is clear and you can learn. At the same time, you are surprised to see that there are thousands of white clouds floating in the water. A sense of trance through time arises spontaneously. Standing by the spring, you can overlook the Han nationality in Niutou Mountain. This situation is even more emotional and nostalgic.

Unfortunately, Baihua Spring was destroyed and lost its original appearance, leaving only a stone tablet. Longquan was hidden under the stone tablet and Pearl Spring was submerged in a river.

When entering the village, I passed the ruins of the ancient Longquan Temple in the west of Longquan. There is also a ginkgo tree in the Ming Dynasty in front of the ancient temple. Although it has experienced thousands of years of wind and rain, it still flourishes and stands tall. Under the shade of ginkgo trees, it is a natural clubhouse for villagers. Men, women and children love to gather under the tree to chat. When we went there, it happened that a white-haired old man was telling us about the "Zhao Zilong vs. Changbanpo" bridge in the Three Kingdoms period. After talking, we learned that the old man is 92 years old, and his children and grandchildren are filial and have no worries about food and clothing. Because I studied and taught in a private school for two years before liberation, I like to tell historical stories to amuse everyone. Several old people proudly introduced that there are many long-lived old people in Yuan Shang village because the spring water is sweet and rich in minerals and trace elements beneficial to health, and the local people drink this water for a long time to keep fit. In this small mountain village where more than 300 people live, there are 7 elderly people over 90 years old and 3 centenarians.

Yuan Shang Village is famous for its springs and stones. The three strange stones left by the Qing official Wang in the neighboring courtyard are still regarded as auspicious by the village together. Speaking of Wang, the villagers in Yuan Shang Village are quite proud. There are many stories about his incorruptibility as an official and his outstanding achievements. A middle-aged couple who came back with hoes heard that we were looking for three strange stones, so they gave enthusiastic guidance.

Next to the farmhouse of the descendants of the Wangs, there are three strange stones in the north-south direction, one of which is like a lotus in bud and named "utpala". The largest one in the middle is engraved with vertical seal on the lotus stone base, and the northernmost one has built the farmer's courtyard wall. In the shade of the stone foundation, the words "Beautiful Copper Pool" are engraved with the inscription "Langya Huang Zuochang".

According to the inscription on the pedestal of the strange stone, these strange stones were bought by the son of the king and sent here. Because of the war, they were not erected in time. Forty years later, it was erected by Wang's grandson Wang, and Wang's son-in-law, Huang Youchang, wrote an article engraved on the stone tablet to commemorate the elders and inherit the family style, hoping that future generations will always remember it.

At that moment, I understood the good intentions of Wang and his descendants to build a "forest garden". The strange stone "utpala" is the homonym of "incorruptibility", and the stone is also the homonym of "reality". Wang Jingxian carefully selected these stones, not only to decorate the courtyard, but also to have a deeper meaning. On the one hand, it shows his father's noble character of being honest and clean, on the other hand, it also educates future generations to learn from the king.

After thousands of years of wind and rain, the "Fanglinyuan" has long gone, but three strange stones with far-reaching implications are still well preserved, standing silently, silently witnessing the changes of history and inheriting a beautiful family style.

When I said goodbye to Yuan Shang Village, it was getting late. Standing on the ridge slope, I looked back and saw this small mountain village surrounded by green trees shrouded in a gorgeous sunset, which was beautiful. Even the ordinary stone wall tiles I just saw emit different colors. ...
