Liyang Hou Shi Temple

Hou Temple was built in Han Dynasty. The Three Kingdoms were well preserved during the Wu and Jin Dynasties and were not destroyed until modern times. Much like the Sophora japonica on the side of the aisle. It has gone through thousands of years of ups and downs, and although it has withered branches and fallen leaves, its ancient charm still exists.

The harem is actually the earliest cemetery in Shi Chong. Who's Shi Chong? Shi Chong's great-grandfather was called Shi Gong, a native of Jibei, Shandong Province, and later moved to Ling Du. Shi Gong has a younger sister, who is Wang Wei's concubine and gave birth to Shi. In the last years of Liang Wudi, because the witch used witchcraft to hurt the emperor, it caused chaos in the court, and the prince, Shi Gong's sister and his son Shi were all hurt. Shi has a son, Sun Dadi, who was born only a few months ago. He was still imprisoned by collective punishment and was not pardoned until he was five years old. Li Ji, the jailer, took pity on the homeless great-grandson and gave him to Shigong. Shi Gong's mother, Zhen Jun, was helpless, loved him very much and raised him by herself. Later, the great-great-grandson succeeded Xuan Di to the throne, and Zhen Jun and Shi Gong both died. In order to repay his kindness, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty sealed off all three sons of Shi Gong: the eldest son Shi Gao was the Leling Hou, the second son Shi, and the third son Shi Yuan was the platform Hou. Ishihara's son is called Fan Shi, and Fan Shi's son is called Xi Shi. They both inherited the title, and Shi Chong is the son of Xi Shi. In this period of history, Shi's genealogy is consistent with that recorded by Ban Gu in Hanshu.

After introducing Shi Chong's ancestors, it's time to introduce Shi Chong. Shi Chong was high-spirited and combative when he was young. Older, studying military. In the early years of Emperor Guangwu, Shi Chong thought that his family had made great contributions to the Han Dynasty and was a relative of the Emperor's family. Therefore, he made a great ambition to make contributions and be immortal. Therefore, he devoted himself to the Wu Da Army, took the lead, galloped the battlefield, defeated Wang Xun, defeated Wang Zhao and subdued Liu Pengzi, and made great contributions. By the emperor, he was named the right general, and the two prefectures of Qinghai and Hebei were secretariat, and he was given the title of an ancient general, which made him the Hou of Liyang and the Wan Huhou of Shilu Tianyi. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, when the country was peaceful, the imperial court issued a decree to send all the vassals to the fief. In this way, Shi Chong arrived in Gucheng, Liyang County (now Gaochun Ancient Town). After arriving in Liyang, he "asked the people about their sufferings, treated them simply, attached importance to education, developed agriculture and mulberry, and gave consideration to fishing and hunting". Shi Chong's enlightenment has a great influence and contribution to the development of civilization in Liyang area.

In the Han Dynasty, Changdang Lake was a large area. Today, Madang, Nandudang, Daxi Huangshan Lake, Santadang at the estuary and Shabadang are all lakes and reeds. During the Three Kingdoms period, Zhou Yu practiced the water army in Changdang Lake. At that time, the water of Changdang Lake was disturbed by water bandits and fishermen, and the fishermen along the lake suffered greatly and complained bitterly. Shi Chong led his men to the lake several times to fight bandits. At that time, the site of Houmiao was a highland on the dam. Shi Chong's official ships and warships often dock at the dam, and Shi Chong sometimes goes ashore for a walk and sightseeing. Shi Chong once told his men that this place is located at the southern end of Changdang Lake, at the foot of the mountain, facing south, commanding, with a wide field of vision, and is a treasure trove of geomantic omen. It is because of Shi Chong's words that the later "harem" was built on the dam high ground by the lake. The next day, I fished everywhere, but I couldn't find Shi Chong's body. There was only a piece of jade left on the boat. When the bad news spread, the people were heartbroken and came to the lake to pay homage. Shi Chong's younger brother is an official in Sichuan. After hearing the news, he came all the way to Liyang to attend the funeral, and buried him in the highlands next to Changdang Lake according to his brother's wishes. In the cenotaph, the most valuable funerary object is the jade pendant used by Shi Chong before his death. Shi Chong's death is recorded in detail in Jiankangzhi, which shows that Shi Chong's death was a very important event at that time. Regarding the death of Shi Chong, there is a discrepancy between the genealogy of Shi and the historical records, saying that it is "unfortunately sick, in the new town, nine times out of ten in the Spring and Autumn Period". 1966 At the beginning of the Cultural Revolution, capitalism was broken, and Shi Chong's tomb was dug up, but no bones were found, only a piece of jade, which was the hand board that ancient ministers took when they met the emperor. It can be seen that Shi Chong's tomb is a cenotaph, which further proves the authenticity and credibility of historical records.

When Emperor Gaozu learned of Shi Chong's death, he was canonized as a secretariat, which made him stronger than posthumous title. According to the marquis specifications stipulated by the imperial court at that time, Hou Shi Temple was named Hou Shi Temple. Later, due to the effect of praying for rain for years, the Song Dynasty sealed the spirit to help the public, and the Yuan Dynasty sealed the spirit to help the king and gave the temple as a gift. Therefore, Hou Shi Temple is called Houmiao. The temple covers an area of 60 mu and is surrounded by yellow cave rocks. There is a picture of Liyang harem in the family tree, which is very clear. There is a small river and a stone bridge in front of the Hou Temple. After crossing the stone bridge, there is an aisle paved with green slate, which leads to the entrance of the harem. There are a pair of stone men, a pair of stone horses and a pair of Weng Zhong on both sides of the aisle, and there are also locust trees and beech trees. On both sides of the temple gate in the Han dynasty, there was a Chinese watch on each side. There is a large horizontal plaque on the door of the shrine, which reads "Hou Shigong Temple in Liyang Village, Han Dynasty". Entering the temple gate, there is an instrument gate. There are halls on both sides of the instrument door and wells on the west side. The water quality is clear and will not dry up all year round. After passing the instrument door, climb the stairs, enter the main hall, the main hall three, tall and majestic, extraordinary momentum. There is a statue of Hou in the center of the hall, and there are statues of dignitaries in the past dynasties on both sides, such as Shi Wuzi, the prime minister of the Tang Dynasty, and Shi Yizhi, the prime minister of the Qing Dynasty. There are also many precious cultural relics in the temple, such as the inscription written by Ban Gu in the Han Dynasty, and the poem "Temple Map Send Historians to Defend Jianning" written by Yang Shiqi, a university student in the Ming Dynasty, which contains the sentence "Beautiful water and bright buildings, the ancient Hou Temple is alone in Liyang". The third is "Haiyue Hall", and the horizontal plaque is written by Zhu Suo, a Dali scholar in the Song Dynasty. On both sides of Haiyue Temple are Sanhou Temple and Wuhou Temple, which are statues of the Eight Emperors of the Stone Family sealed by the emperor. Shi Chong's Crown Tomb is located at the back wall of Haiyue Hall. The tombstone in front of the tomb is engraved with the words "Tomb of Hou in Liyang of Han Dynasty", surrounded by four Songlin Zhou. Overlooking the harem, it is uneven, the houses cover the sky, and the eaves and walls are magnificent and impregnable. The ancient trees are towering and the high walls are towering. "Shi's Genealogy" records: "The mountains are majestic, the waters are clear, and temples are built in the meantime, which seems to be decided by heaven."
