Xi Anxingjiao Temple, located in the south of Huayan Temple, was built in 664. It was the relocation and burial place of Xuanzang and was one of the eight major temples in Fan Chuan in Tang Dynasty. At the end of the Tang Dynasty, Xingjiao Temple was burned down because of the war, leaving only the pagodas of Xuanzang and his two disciples. Buildings such as Daxiong Hall and Tibetan Classics Building were rebuilt during the Republic of China.
Master Xuanzang, a famous monk, died and was buried in Bailuyuan. In the second year of Tang Gaozong (AD 669), it was reburied as Fengqi Plateau in Fan Chuan, with five spires. The following year, because the pagoda built the temple, Tang Suzong inscribed the word "Xingjiao", hence the name Xingjiao Temple. Xingjiao Temple, facing south, is a scenic spot for Buddhists to visit and admire Xuanzang's remains, with solemn weather and overlooking Mount Zhongnan. There is a bronze Buddha of Ming Dynasty and a jade Buddha of Myanmar in the temple, as well as thousands of books of past dynasties. Premier Zhou accompanied Indian Prime Minister Nehru to visit Xuanzang's tomb tower.
In the first year of Linde in Tang Dynasty (AD 664), Master Xuanzang died of illness and was first buried in Bailuyuan, east of Chanhe River. In the second year of the Tang Dynasty (AD 669), he was moved and buried here and built a tower and temple. Tang Suzong Hengli was named after its inscription "Xingjiao Temple" for Xuanzang Pagoda. During the Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty, the original Tang Temple of Xingjiao Temple was destroyed by war, leaving only three pagodas. Modern reconstruction still retains the original style of "legal system in the temple, precision and solemnity", which makes Xingjiao Temple back to the plateau, with blue tiles and red walls, hidden in a lush pine forest and a very beautiful environment.
Now the temple is divided into the main courtyard and the east and west courtyards. On the front of Jacky Shanmen's main book "Protecting the Country and Promoting Education Temple", four characters of "Fa" and "Solemn" are engraved on the left and right retaining walls, and there are bell and drum towers on both sides to worship the gilded statue of Sakyamuni cast in the Yuan Dynasty. It is about 3 meters high and weighs 1.36 tons. The backyard of the main hall is a lecture hall built in memory of Master Xuanzang, and the wall of the hall is inlaid with the Diamond Sutra. The last floor is the reclining Buddha Hall, which is 9 meters long and carved with camphor wood.
Xiyuanyuan, also known as Ci 'en Pagoda, is the answer to the burial of Xuanzang and his disciples. In a forest of peach trees, there are three brick pagodas, the tallest of which is the pagoda of Master Xuanzang. There is an arched shutter door on the ground floor and a colorful statue of Master Xuanzang in the niche.
