Where does Chaoyang City belong?

Chaoyang City belongs to Shantou City, Guangdong Province.

In 2003, Chaoyang City withdrew from the city and set up a city, Chaoyang District, Shantou City.

In the first year of Long 'an in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (AD 397), Chaoyang established a county, and in 1993, the county was withdrawn to establish a city (county level). In 2003, Chaoyang District and Chaonan District were separated and placed under the jurisdiction of Shantou City. With an area of 665.74 square kilometers, Chaoyang is a famous hometown of overseas Chinese in China.

Chaoyang District is located in the southeast of Guangdong Province, bordering the South China Sea and close to the Tropic of Cancer. The landform of the whole region is dominated by hills and plains, and there are two major water systems, Lianjiang and Rongjiang. The transportation is convenient, with National Highway 324, Shenzhen-Shantou Expressway, Provincial Highway 234, Provincial Highway 237, xiamen-shenzhen railway and the planned four expressways of Shanzhan, Chaohui, Jiehui and Chaoshan Ring Road passing through the territory.

1. Haimen Town is close to the South China Sea, and Lianjiang is at the mouth of the sea. Located in the southeast coast of Chaoyang District, it faces Dujing Town in Chaonan District in the west, Haojiang District in the northeast and Chengnan Street in the northwest. The geographical area is 30.54 square kilometers, of which the sea area is 10.7 square kilometers.

Xiqiao Town is located at the mouth of the west bank of the lower reaches of Rongjiang River, in the northwest of Chaoyang City, facing Shantou City across the river in the northeast, bordering Hexi Town, Heping, Tongyu and Gurao Town in the southeast and Guanbu Town in the north.

Jinzao Town is located in the northwest of Chaoyang District, Shantou City, Guangdong Province. Located on the south bank of Rongjiang River, it is connected to Guanbu in the east, Jieyang in the northwest, and Gurao and Guiyu across the mountain (connected by highway) in the south.
