It is a common problem that the water temperature rises when the air conditioner is turned on, and everything is normal without the air conditioner. Today, let's analyze the reason from the working principle of the car.
Why does turning on the air conditioner cause high temperature?
So at present, the essence of the problem is still the problem of insufficient cooling capacity of the cooling system. Generally speaking, the cooling capacity of the cooling system may be insufficient for several reasons:
1, the radiator has insufficient heat dissipation capacity.
The automobile cooling system is very similar to the heating system. The high-temperature coolant in the engine is driven by the water pump along the pipeline to the radiator in front of the car, where it releases heat and then flows back to the engine to complete heat dissipation. If the radiator has insufficient heat dissipation capacity, it will lead to excessive temperature. The main reasons for the insufficient heat dissipation capacity of the radiator are as follows:
The radiator or air conditioner condenser is too dirty.
The radiator is honeycomb-shaped, and the middle is covered with airflow channels, so that air can fully contact the surface of the radiator and quickly take away heat. Moreover, these channels are very small, which is particularly easy to be blocked. If the blockage is serious, it will easily lead to the decrease of heat dissipation capacity.
In addition, too dirty air-conditioning condenser will also lead to insufficient heat dissipation capacity of radiator. Because the air conditioner condenser is next to the radiator, and the air conditioner condenser is in front of the radiator. In other words, the air flow must pass through the air conditioner condenser to reach the radiator. If the condenser is too dirty, the airflow will be blocked and cannot reach the radiator, resulting in insufficient heat dissipation capacity of the radiator.
Active air intake grille
The air intake grille is located in the front of the car, which is the only way for air flow to enter the radiator. Some cars are equipped with active air intake grille, that is, when the engine does not reach the normal working temperature, the air intake grille can be automatically closed to stop the airflow and let the engine heat up quickly. It can be turned on automatically when heat dissipation is needed, without affecting heat dissipation. But this thing is electric. If something goes wrong, the air intake grille won't open, the air flow can't enter the radiator, and the engine will naturally heat up.
Insufficient coolant
Too little coolant will lead to the decrease of cooling circulation flow and heat transfer capacity. Not enough to quickly take away the heat inside the engine.
2, coolant circulation failure
Coolant must be circulated to take away the heat from the engine and give it away. If the coolant circulation is not good, it will also lead to insufficient heat dissipation and high temperature. The reasons that affect the coolant circulation failure are as follows:
Pump failure
The water pump is the power source of coolant circulation. Without a water pump, it is difficult for coolant to circulate and dissipate heat by itself. Common faults include damaged water pump blades and loose water pump spindle. The most obvious performance after the pump is broken is that there is no warm air.
There is air in the cooling system.
There is air in the cooling system, which will lead to poor circulation or even abnormal circulation of coolant. At this time, it is necessary to open the exhaust screw to try to exhaust.
All these problems may lead to high temperature after turning on the air conditioner, and we need to eliminate them from simple to complex. As long as the thinking is correct, we can find out the problems in a targeted way.
