Huang Painting School, also known as "Yellow Painting School" and "Huang's Rich Family", occupies an important position in the history of flower and bird painting in China. It is one of the two schools of flower-and-bird painting in the Five Dynasties. It matured in the Yellow Spring of Western Shu in the Five Dynasties and flourished in Huang Jucai in the early Song Dynasty.
Xu School, also known as Xu School, is one of the famous painting schools in China and one of the two major schools of flower-and-bird painting in the Five Dynasties. The representative painter is Xu Xi of the Southern Tang Dynasty. Xu, a native of Jinling, is a well-dressed Jiangnan man, but he is noble and luxurious, with many rivers and lakes. His paintings of flowers, wild bamboos, birds, fish, plants, insects and beasts are all wonderful.
Northern landscape painting school is one of the schools of Chinese painting, which was divided into northern school and Jiangnan school in the early Song Dynasty. The Northern Landscape Painting School came into being in the Five Dynasties and the Northern Song Dynasty, and its masters were Guan Tong, Li Cheng and Fan Kuan.
