Born in Yichuan, Henan Province, he is a direct descendant of Shao Yong, a philosopher and Yi-ology scholar in the Northern Song Dynasty, and the 26th generation head of Shaw Feng Shui in China.
At present, he is consultant of Central Plains Urban Agglomeration Planning Center, director of China Folk Culture Research Association, deputy secretary-general of China Traditional Culture Promotion Association, and chairman of Shao Yong Institute of Yi Studies.

Retired in early 2002, immersed in that pile of old paper every day, entertaining myself.
