Where is Hongkou District?

Hongkou, named after Hongkou Port, is located in the northeast of Shanghai, bordering Yangpu District in the east, Zhabei District in the west, Huangpu River and Wusong River (Suzhou River) in the south, facing Pudong New Area and Huangpu District across the sea, and Baoshan District in the north. Hongkou is located in the northeast of Shanghai, which is the only road in the center of Shanghai. Zhu Rongji, then the mayor of Shanghai, praised Hongkou as a "land of geomantic omen" and its regional economy is quite developed. Hongkou District has eight streets under its jurisdiction. The traffic in the area is convenient, with the Inner Ring Road and Central Ring Road passing through the area, and rail transit lines 3 (Pearl Line of Light Rail), 4, 8, 10, 12 passing through the area, and bus lines extending in all directions. Hongkou football stadium comprehensive transportation hub is the largest subway and bus transfer center in the northeast of Shanghai. Today, the key development areas in Hongkou District are North Bund, Sichuan North Road and Dabaishu.
