Sui dynasty
Emperor Wendi Sui Wendi is an enlightened emperor, and he is skeptical about Feng Shui. Someone sold feng shui in front of him, and he said rudely, "If the place occupied by my ancestral grave is unlucky, I will be the emperor;" If it is lucky, my brother died in the war. "No lobbyist is right.
Yang Gongren, the prime minister of Sui Dynasty, prepared to buy ancestral graves and invited five or six batches of famous land in China. These people go their own way, and Yang Gongren doesn't know who to listen to. He secretly sent someone back to his hometown to take a bucket of soil from the four corners of the graveyard and recorded the situation in the almanac. Xiangdi experts are not sure either. A man named Shu Chuo said, "There are grains five feet away from this land. One is the blessed land, and the world is king. " Yang Gongren invited Shu Chuo to his place and dug seven feet. Sure enough, he found a cave with seven or eight barrels of millet in it. This was originally a millet field, which was pecked by ants. Yang Gongren then rewarded Shu Chuo.
the Tang Dynasty
The understanding of phase in Tang Dynasty was gradually scientific. In the preface to Yuanhe County Records, Li Jifu criticized geologists of past dynasties that "it is not important for people to seek ghosts and gods because of their tombs in terms of their makeup." Li describes the beauty of mountains and rivers very concretely in his book, such as "the valley of letters closes the city, the road is in the valley, and the danger is like a letter, hence the name." Among them, it is poor, fifteen miles east and west, standing on the shore wall, in the shadow valley of Berlin on the cliff, the sun can hardly be seen. ..... from Xiaoshan in the east to Jintong in the west, the common name is Hangu, which is a natural barrier. " Later feng shui masters often imitated this writing to describe geography.
In the Tang dynasty, the activities of knowing each other's geomantic omen were increasingly divided, and geomantic omen focused on looking at graves, which was very superstitious. According to Kay's records cited in Tongdian (Volume 138), it has become a very common custom to "predict the date of burial" whether an official or dies.
At the beginning of the Tang Dynasty, Xu Xun asked someone to bury him, and got the comment that "Suzaku is singing, and his descendants are prosperous". A fortuneteller named Zhang Jingzang didn't think so, thinking that there were too many occupations. This so-called rosefinch is sad, and ashes are seen in the coffin. "Later, when Xu Jingye rebelled in Yangzhou, Wu Zetian was furious and sent someone to pry open Xu Xun's grave and burn the body to ashes, which fulfilled Zhang Jingzang's assertion. At that time, some intellectuals knew Feng Shui. When Wu Zetian was in power, assistant minister Hao strongly opposed Gao Zongxun's presence in Wu Zetian and was left out by Wu Zetian. After Hao's death, a scholar passed by Hao's grave and said, "When the Dragon Horn is buried, the coffin should also be put in. Later, Hao's grandson committed a crime, which affected Jiuzu and dug up Hao's grave. What the scholar said is right.
"Burying the Dragon Horn" refers to burying the coffin in a corner of Long Mai, which was a feng shui taboo at that time. According to the "Legacy", Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty hunted in the hot springs, the stork flew away, and the royal horse galloped. The fast horse appointed by Mr. Baiyun could keep up with Emperor Xuanzong. When I reached a hill and saw a new grave, Zhang Yue looked after it for a long time. Xuanzong asked me what I saw. Zhang Yue said: "Bury the ground, put the faucet back in its original place, put the dragon horn on the pillow, and it will be gone in three years." There is a woodcutter next to him. Xuanzong asked who was buried here, and the woodcutter said it was Cui Xun's house at the foot of the mountain. Xuanzonghe came to Cui's house, but the man was still disheveled. I wonder if it's Xuanzong. Xuanzong said: "The new grave on the mountain is unlucky!" The man said, "My father said before he died,' Take the dragon's head and pillow the dragon's ear. It will take you three years to get there. "Xuanzong by surprise. Zhang Yue lamented that he was inferior to Cui Xun, and later returned to the mountains to practice. Xuanzong Xiaguan recalled men's lifelong corvee.
Among the ministers of Xuanzong, several said that water is the most ventilated. Datang Xinyu? "Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio" records that during the Kaiyuan period, Xu Jian, the wife of Cen and a bachelor of Jixian County, died of illness and asked Zhang about the choice of cemetery. Zhang Changyun: One foot and two feet below the flat land are the soil boundary, and the other foot and two feet are the water boundary. The boundary is guarded by the earth dragon, and the water boundary is guarded by the water dragon. Tulong comes out to bask in the sun once every six years, and Shuilong comes out to bask in the sun once every twelve years. The grave should not be too close to the soil boundary and the water boundary, otherwise the grave will not be strong.
Zhang's knowledge of Feng Shui is not as good as that of Huangzhou Pagoda in Hubei. The Ugly Village Diary records that Master Hong bought a house for Zhang and warned Zhang not to make holes in the northeast of the house. Later, there was a trap in the northeast of the house for no reason. The dharma master said, "The public should be rich for life, and the master will never stop." Zhang said that the land should be leveled, and Master Hong added, "A foreign land is lifeless and unconnected with the earth. It's no use mending other people's sores. Nowadays, vulgar teachers talk nonsense about Feng Shui. When one corner of the square falls, it will increase the weight of the building, which means it is ridiculous to hide the wind and gather gas. Gentlemen can't be confused. " In addition, Master Hong also predicted that Li could only be a prime minister in 19, but a minister. These deeds are recorded in Taiping Guangji.
At that time, many monks knew Feng Shui. There was a man named Sima Toutuo in Jiangxi who traveled all over the mountains of Hongdu and found a famous mountain in Hunan. A monk established Tongqing Temple on the mountain, and a man named Wang Zhixing was under Xuzhou when he was young. There lived a Taoist priest next door. Zhixing gets up every day to sweep the floor until he reaches the door of the Taoist priest's house. The Taoist priest was very grateful and said, "I'll go and see the cemetery and choose a good land for your family." He led Zhixing out and pointed to a piece of land and said, "Bury your ancestors here; You should be immortal, two generations to Fang Bo. " Later, Zhixing rose to the position of lieutenant with meritorious military service.
