The origin of Wang Kantou

In the Southern Song Dynasty, there was an epigenetic Wang Xing in Kantou, Dongyang, who made a living by releasing ducks. During the day, he took his wife everywhere. It's getting dark, so they either stay in the farmhouse or in the dilapidated temple pavilion. Cold comes and summer goes, day after day. Although raising ducks is very hard, I am finally hungry and live a free and happy life! In fact, in the hearts of their husband and wife, don't they also have a dream to end their wandering life, find a paradise, settle down and enjoy the warmth of men farming and women weaving?

One day, they drove ducks from Yoichi Higashi Road to Yiwu. After climbing several slopes, a green wetland suddenly opened up in front of me. I saw a stream passing by. The land by the stream is fertile and the vegetation is lush. When ducks arrive here, they don't listen to instructions. They all shouted and walked into the wetland for food. At this time, the couple are also tired. The husband inserted the long bamboo pole into the middle of the ground and found a place to sit down with his wife. Not far away, there are wine flags swaying, and people can be heard coming and going. There seems to be a big market town. So the husband asked his wife to look after the ducks here and take some duck eggs to the market town to buy some food.

This is a market town called Buddhist Temple, which is lively and bustling, with crowded streets and alleys, and all kinds of goods from North and South are available. On the dock by the river, the boatmen are busy loading and unloading goods. Wang Housheng sells duck eggs and has some copper coins on him. He went to a hotel, ordered two side dishes and drank a pot of old wine. The hotel is full of merchants from the south to the north, telling local customs and anecdotes, listening with relish, but also lingering. It was dark, so he bought some dry food and snacks and hurried back. My wife found a place in a nearby gazebo. He will bring home food to share with his wife, and then go to bed when he feels tired. When he woke up the next day, he was surprised to find that the long bamboo pole inserted in the middle of the field yesterday had pulled out several tender bamboo branches and swayed gently in the morning breeze. When he pulled out the bamboo pole, he saw that many fine roots had grown at the bottom of the mud.

This is really a rare place for feng shui! Wang Housheng can't help but sigh. Because he also likes the nearby Buddhist temple market town, the couple decided to settle down in the middle of the field, open up wasteland to grow grain, release ducks and raise silkworms, and thrive. With the passage of time, the population in this area has gradually flourished, forming the scale of Jiangnan villages with more than 1300 households. Because the first cornerstone of this village was placed in the center of the field where Wang Housheng put bamboo poles, people named this village Tian Xin, and the stream around the village was named Huanxi. The duck-driving couple became the ancestors of King Joy of Tian Xin.

Every year in the slack season on the eighth day of November of the lunar calendar, people in Tian Xin will hold a grand folk activity with the theme of "Celebrating the Qing Dynasty and praying for blessings". On this day, everyone gathered in the hall, with sacrifices of fat pigs and sheep on both sides. People comment with great interest, whose sheep are raised big and whose pigs are fed fat ... Tian Xin people use this oldest form to express their respect for their ancestors. In the middle and late Ming Dynasty, folk cultural activities such as welcoming Luo Hong and "xianggong" were added, which better demonstrated the Yiwu spirit of being diligent and eager to learn, and passed on the traditional good family style of courtesy, filial piety, loyalty, honesty and diligence from generation to generation.
