Why can Jiyuan's economy compare with Zhengzhou?

Jiyuan City is located in the northwest of Henan Province. In ancient times, it was the birthplace of water saving. As the name implies, its name comes from this. Jishui was very famous in ancient times, and its status was equivalent to that of the Yangtze River, the Yellow River and the Huaihe River. If viewed clockwise from the north, Jiyuan is adjacent to Jincheng, Shanxi, Jiaozuo, Luoyang and Yuncheng, Shanxi.

Jiyuan has the Yellow River in the south and Taihang Mountain in the north. This is a good place with mountains and rivers. According to Feng Shui, such a place belongs to the treasure house of Feng Shui.

If you look at the map of Henan Province, you will find that the area of Jiyuan City is very small. If Henan Province is regarded as a fist, Jiyuan City is equivalent to the size of a fingernail. Jiyuan covers an area of 1.900 square kilometers with a population of just over 700,000. It is the smallest provincial municipality (sub-prefecture level) in Henan Province.

Nanyang is the largest prefecture-level city in Henan Province, with an area of 26,600 square kilometers and a registered population of 10 million. The land area and population of Nanyang are more than 10 times that of Jiyuan. Together, they are like elephants and kittens standing together. Even the other two smaller cities, Luohe and Hebi, are bigger than it.

Jiyuan City was a county-level or county-level city because of its small area and small population, and was under the jurisdiction of nearby Jiaozuo City. But why is it so high-level that it is qualified to sit on the same line as more than a dozen other cities in Henan? Although it is a sub-word prefecture-level city, it is also a prefecture-level city after all.

The reason is that the crustal movement hundreds of millions of years ago made Jiyuan located at the southern foot of Taihang Mountain, which is rich in various minerals, animals and plants. According to statistics, there are more than 40 kinds of proven coal, iron and other mineral resources, more than 3,000 kinds of animal and plant resources, especially 1000 kinds of medicinal materials, many of which belong to the category of national rare protection.

Because of the existence of the Yellow River, there is also the famous Xiaolangdi water control project, and the benefits of irrigation, electricity and tourism are also very considerable. In addition, Jiyuan is a special case in the north where water is generally scarce. It is not only inexhaustible, but also inexhaustible. The groundwater that can be mined here reaches one billion cubic meters, which is not a small amount. In China, where water resources are scarce, these are all valuable assets.

Relying on these mineral resources, Jiyuan City has vigorously developed iron and steel, coal and other mineral processing and related coalification, salinization and various special equipment manufacturing industries. Coupled with the beautiful mountains and rivers, rich historical and cultural landscapes and developed tourism.

Due to the strong economic development, small population base and high per capita GDP, it has been very high in the whole province. In 2009, it surpassed Zhengzhou and ranked first in the province.

In 20 16, the total GDP reached more than 53 billion, and the per capita GDP was more than 70,000, ranking second only to Zhengzhou, the provincial capital. The GDP of 20 17 region reached more than 6 12 billion, ranking fifth in the province, with a very strong development momentum, among which the growth rate of service industry ranked second in the province, and the import and export trade ranked first in the province.

It can be seen that Jiyuan City is small and cannot be underestimated. Its development depends not only on the exploitation of natural resources, but also on superior conditions and the spirit of "one mountain for foolish men", and the comprehensive development of all aspects has its status today.
