The golden hamster is also called the Syrian hamster. Taxonomically, it is a medium-sized hamster of the genus Hamster in China. Like many hamsters, the golden hamster has a blunt nose and mouth, relatively small eyes, large ears and a short tail, about 1.5 cm.
The hair is golden yellow, the center of the back is black, and black stripes can be seen under the ears. Some people may have a black part on their forehead, and a black stripe extends from the cheek pouch to the neck on both sides of their faces. ?
Terrestrial nocturnal omnivores in temperate regions feed on crops and insects and mainly exist in cultivated land of annual crops. The average life expectancy in the field is 1~2 years, and that in captivity is 2~4 years.
