Historical evolution of Mingguang County

According to "Sizhou Chronicles": Mingguang Mountain is the mountain where the Lord gathers. When Taizu of the Ming Dynasty was born, there was a light shining in the sky, so he was named after it. It can be seen that Mingguang has a history of more than 600 years.

In November of the 21st year of the Republic of China (1932), 17 Baoshan in the south of Xuyi, 6 in the north of Chuxian County, 6 in Dingyuandong, and 3 in Lai'anxi were merged and newly established in Jiashan County, the county government is Sanjie Town (Laosanjie).

In 1940, the Anti-Japanese Democratic Government of Jiashan County was established. The county government was located in Zilaiqiao Town. Comrade Wang Daohan, who is currently the president of the Association for Cross-Strait Relations, was the first county magistrate of the Anti-Japanese Democratic Government of Jiashan County.

On May 31, 1994, with the approval of the State Council, the county was removed and established as a city.

Mingguang City is located on the northeastern edge of Anhui Province, on the north side of the Jianghuai watershed, between 117° and 119° east longitude and 32° and 34° north latitude. between. At the end of the year, the balance of savings deposits of urban and rural residents was 2.05 billion yuan, an increase of 350 million yuan from the beginning of the year.
