How to remove the heating pipe of Land Rover Freelander 2

The steps are as follows:

1. Find the heater water pipe on the Land Rover Freelander 2 and check its status.

2. Distinguish the two butt metal pipes on the heating pipe joint.

3. Recognize the pointer, turntable and other marks on the quick connector of the heating pipe.

4. Turn the dial to align the pointer with the separation mark.

5. Turn the pointer again to align it with the joint mark.

6. Turn the turntable counterclockwise by hand and pull it outward at the same time to remove it.

Notes:

If you use too much force when disassembling, it is easy to break the internal clips. The operating space is very narrow, and if your fingers are not strong or confident, you need professionals to handle it for you.

The place where liquid leaks from the heating pipe is usually in the "hoop", which is the shiny metal ring in the screenshot. It is a dead hoop, unlike the inner diameter of the spring clamp that can adapt.

If the hose is of poor quality or has been used for a long time, the elasticity of the rubber will become poor. Joints that use "hoops" will definitely have leakage problems: the fundamental reason is that the elasticity of the hose is not good, and the secondary reason is that the elasticity of the hose is not good. The reason is that a "hoop" with a constant inner diameter is used there.

When the temperature is the lowest in winter, the inner diameter of the hoop shrinks to the minimum and the hose is compressed to the maximum. As the temperature gets warmer, the inner diameter of the hoop gradually becomes larger, and the hose (due to poor elasticity) does not expand simultaneously. A gap gradually appears between the two parts, eventually leading to leakage.
