There is a tree in the middle of the most prosperous main road in Jining, but no one dares to cut it down.

An ancient pagoda tree stands at the entrance of the affiliated hospital of Jining Medical College. Perhaps the locust tree is endless, and its tenacious vitality infects people. People who don't know when to see a doctor here like to make a wish under the tree. Since it is a locust tree, pray for your loved ones! It is said to be quite effective. Therefore, even if the road is repaired, it still does not move, and a high fence is added around it to protect it. People from south to north make detours. People regard it as a god, so today's ancient locust trees are covered with red silk, and there are often incense candles on the guardrail steps. Compared with some love wishing trees tied with red ropes, it is a bit more sad and sad. Every time I see someone kneeling under the tree, I am silently blessing, and God is blessing me.

This old tree, nicknamed "Yangshan Guhuai", is the highest point of Jining City because of Guhuai Road. There is a saying in history that "the water is all over the city, and it is safe here". Jining people are ingenious, taking the meaning that "the fisherman lost his boat and sighed at this point, and Yin Shanqiao was addicted to pleasure", and named this place "Yushan". The ancient pagoda is located in Shan Zhinan, with sunny south of Shannan, hence the name "Yangshan Ancient Pagoda". According to legend, Wei Chijingde, the founding emperor of the Tang Dynasty, visited his friends and stopped to watch under the big pagoda tree, thus leaving a story of "Respecting Virtue and Stopping to Watch the Ancient pagoda tree". As for the legend that the white mouse essence in the cave of the old locust tree has become a kannika nimtragol, it has given the old locust tree a mysterious color.

The exact historical age of "Yangshan ancient Sophora japonica" is not recorded in historical materials, but Jining people commonly call it "Millennium ancient Sophora japonica", which can also be said to be very old. In the early years of the Republic of China, Wang Yizhi, a Beiping scholar living in Jining, saw that this ancient pagoda tree was old, and once wrote the stone carving "Yangshan Ancient pagoda tree" in calligraphy and embedded it in its wall. Nowadays, from a distance, the ancient locust is intertwined, bent and twisted, and the wooden cloth has rusted.

The ancient pagoda tree is lush, and the breeze is frost-resistant. There was a legend before, how did this locust tree come from? A long time ago, a family in Hongdong County, Shanxi Province offended the government and wanted to kill the whole family. In order to escape the government's pursuit, a cart carried the burden, and more than a dozen people left their homes and fled abroad. Before leaving, I cut down the locust trees in the yard, some made poles, some made crutches, and went to Jining a few months later. The folk customs here are simple and the land is fertile, so I set up camp here, inserted the wooden sticks I brought into the ground, took root and sprouted the next year, and grew into a big tree with a thick bowl in a few years, with lush branches and leaves and shaded the sun. This is the story of Chi Jingde tying a horse. Every year, Sophora japonica blooms in spring and sows in autumn. Many birds eat them, and the seeds in bird droppings can take root and sprout. Some people say that Sophora japonica in other places is the descendant of Sophora japonica in Jining.

As for the ancient Huaibaozi, there is a beautiful legend. People who used to live in the old street near Guhuai were sad to see Guhuai die of old age. Another year, the sky suddenly began to rain, lightning and thunder. In the firelight, I saw the delicate tree Sophora japonica flying in the sky. It saw Suzhou, known as a paradise on earth, and was attracted to the world by the beautiful scenery. Later, Sophora japonica turned into a handsome man, met a beautiful woman who had a spring outing in Jiangnan, fell in love at first sight, and soon became Qin Jin's good friend. The following year, a son was born. His son was lively and lovely at the age of ten.

According to legend, Jining (formerly Rencheng) is a descendant of Shanxi Sophora japonica. About 600 years ago, when the Ming Dynasty moved its population on a large scale, it came here from Hongdong, Shanxi. Up to now, in the northern part of Hongdong County, Shanxi Province, the famous relocation of the Ming Dynasty still exists. Tomb-Sweeping Day is a "holy land" for descendants of ancient Sophora japonica at home and abroad to seek roots and worship their ancestors every year. Because the locust tree bears the heavy history of Jining! Now people in Jining regard Sophora japonica as a city tree, which shows how important it is to Jining people. She has completely divorced from the concept of a plant and has become the spiritual comfort and sustenance of Jining people!
