China is located in the northern hemisphere, in the eastern part of Eurasia. Most of the land is located north of the Tropic of Cancer (23 degrees 26 north latitude), and sunlight enters from the south all year round. Houses facing south are easy to absorb sunlight. Sunlight has many benefits for people: first, it can keep people warm, and the temperature in the south room is 1-2 degrees higher than that in the north room in winter; second, it participates in the synthesis of vitamin D in the human body, and children who often spend time in the sun can prevent rickets; third, the ultraviolet rays in the sun have Bactericidal effect; fourth, it can enhance human immune function. Suzaku in the south, Xuanwu in the north, Qinglong in the east, and white tiger in the west. In Feng Shui, the dragon is strong and the tiger is weak. Qi is the origin of all things. Tai Chi is Qi. One Qi accumulates to give rise to two rituals. There are three and five elements in life. Earth gets it from Qi, water gets it from Qi, people get it from Qi, and responds to Qi. All things can't be affected by Qi. gas. Besides, in ancient times, purple energy generally represented dragon energy. Dragons come from the east, so purple energy comes from the east! On the contrary, tigers are lucky!
The most important festival for us Chinese people - the Spring Festival - is coming soon. Every year at the end of the year, people "always replace the new peaches with the old charms", that is, they have to post Spring Festival couplets. The Spring Festival couplets often write Some auspicious words, such as good fortune, longevity, happiness, and a safe population, often appear in the couplets with the sentence "Purple air comes from the east", for example:
Purple air comes from the east, comes from the west, brings good fortune to the south, and goes to Xiangguang north. Promote wealth
Purple air comes from the east, and good luck goes straight up to the clear clouds
Purple air comes from the east, and graceful bluebirds descend in front of the court
Looking to the west of Yaochi, auspicious clouds bloom in the sky 生
These words are used in many horizontal commentaries including couplets. So what is the origin of these four words? Let’s take a quick look at it.
Mr. Lu Xun, a famous writer during the Republic of China, once said that the origin of Chinese culture is Taoism. So the origin of these four words is related to Lao Tzu, the founder of Taoist culture. Lao Tzu, whose name is Luggage, also named Dan, was a native of Chen Guoku County in the Spring and Autumn Period of my country. Laozi once served as a collector of history in Luoyi of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, which was equivalent to the position of director of the National Library. He took advantage of favorable conditions to acquire a large number of books, and gradually formed a family through his observation and thinking of various phenomena in the troubled times of the Spring and Autumn Period.
In his later years, when the Zhou Dynasty was in decline, Laozi believed that the world was hopeless and decided to leave his official position and go into seclusion. According to legend, Laozi rode a green ox west out of Hangu Pass. Yin Xi, the gatekeeper of Hangu Pass, stared at it from the independent tower. In the starry sky, I suddenly saw a gathering of purple clouds in the east. It was thirty thousand miles long and shaped like a flying dragon, rolling from east to west. He said to himself: "The purple cloud comes thirty thousand miles from the east. The saint traveled westward and passed here. The green ox slowly carried it. Old man, hide your appearance and hide your vitality." So he sent people to clean the road for forty miles and burn incense along the road to welcome me. When I arrived, I talked with Yin Xi. At this time, Yin Xi asked me to give him the written toll money. Unable to refuse, he wrote the famous "Tao Te Ching", two chapters of 5,000 words. This story is also the origin of "Purple Air Coming from the East".
