Overview

“There is a mountain directly north of the old city, shaped like a screen, so it is called ‘Pingshan’.” The newly renovated Pingshan Park is picturesque and pleasing to the eye, and is a good place for many residents to relax. Entering from the north gate of Pingshan Park, the most eye-catching thing is the giant curtain wall at the main entrance of the park. There are eight characters written on the front wall: "Shaoxing opens to Fujian, Zhenhai opens to Tianjin".

Zhaobi, a unique part of ancient Chinese traditional architecture, was especially popular in the Ming Dynasty. It was generally used as a shield in city gates. The ancients called it "Xiaoqiang". In the past, people believed that building a wall in their home would ward off evil spirits. Another theory is that the screen wall is a unique architectural form influenced by Feng Shui consciousness, which is called "shadow wall" or "shadow wall".

The eight characters on the front of the screen wall in Pingshan Park have their origins~ Among them, "Shaoyue Qimin" is transformed from the "Shaoyue" in the Fujian Wang Temple, and the "jin" refers to the port, which comes from Wang The word "京," appears in the inscription on Dezheng. The eight-character font also came from a "famous artist" and was collected from Lin Zexu, a famous historical figure in Sanfangqixiang.
