Kanas Lake is the terminal moraine lake eroded by ancient and modern glaciers 200 thousand years ago. The lake is long and curved, like a pod, about 24 kilometers long from north to south, 0/.6 ~ 2.9 kilometers wide from east to west, and covers an area of 44.78 square kilometers. The elevation of the lake is1370m, the average water depth is 90m, and the deepest point is184m. It is the deepest alpine lake in the inland of China and the only alpine lake in the sub-frigid zone.
Kanas East District in the south of the Yangtze River is a cross-city scenic spot in Anhui Province, which consists of Nanling Yanshan Scenic Spot, Longhu Scenic Spot, Jingxian Danchong Scenic Spot and Shenlong Mountain Scenic Spot. The immortal water of Huangshan Mountain, the Buddha water of Jiuhua Mountain, the beautiful water of Taiping Lake and the emblem water of Taohuatan converge into the holy water of Kanas Lake in the south of the Yangtze River. Taiping Lake was built in Chencun Reservoir and Kanas Lake in Jiangnan was built in Xikou Dam.
