The name of Sanwangpo is related to the legend of Guan Yu (Guan Gong) in the Three Kingdoms period. Everyone in Jingchu knows the story of "Three sworn vows in Taoyuan". When Guan Yu was ordered to guard the territory of Shu, this border area was also under his jurisdiction.
According to legend, Guan Yu once led his troops along the Weihe River in the remaining vein of Wuling Mountain to Qijiaping to inspect the people's feelings. One day, I made a detour through Liu Jiachang, stopped to camp in the willow forest by the river, and buried the stove to cook. Suddenly, a fragrant wind came and alarmed the general. Clapping, I found that there is a mountain bay called "Shanxikou" along the river, where camphor trees are planted in the forest and peach trees are everywhere, and the fragrance comes from here.
The next day, Guan Yu rode a red hare and led his troops into the mountains. Walking to the "Shanxikou", you can see the red and green on the hillside, and the flowers are intoxicating. Guan Yu's mood changed suddenly, and he rode his horse across the "mountain stream mouth" and approached the camphor tree, which surprised him. Then, through the peach blossom forest, to the mountains.
I saw a small hut with a closed door by the bamboo forest in the ravine. When he sent a soldier to knock at the door, he saw an old man come out. Guan Yu dismounted and saluted. Seeing that he was flushed and bearded, the old man replied that this place was called "Taoshuao". Because there are peach trees everywhere, the top of Houshan is called "Peach Peak". In the forest, two young people in Tujia costumes heard voices and came out. They are holding a kitchen knife and a firewood rack. I felt a panic when I saw that the cliffs and valleys were all armored teams.
One of the soldiers said, don't be afraid. Let's observe the people's feelings with General Guan. The two brothers settled down under the cliff. Guan Yu asked them who they were and how to cross the valley.
The tall young man calls himself Er. They are brothers and live opposite Shanchongli.
Yuer said that the place where the general stood was called "Yanmenzi", and we both called it "Lashu Cliff" because the slope was covered with wax trees. We use this wild jinggu vine to swing to both sides. With that, the two brothers grabbed the cane and waved it.

Guan Yu asked the old man why the place name was strange. What did "Ya" mean? Old Yu Man said that "cliff" refers to the narrowest place in the mountain.

There is a ridge in front of Lashuya, which is called "city wall" in geomantic omen, so it is appropriate to build a mausoleum. On this day, the sky over Lashuya suddenly became dark, with lightning and thunder, and it rained cats and dogs. Zhang's rich man's grave was washed away without a trace and there were no bones left. More than half of the pass is filled with quicksand and rocks, and it has become like this. Fortunately, the bell and drum in the celebration hall finally rang. "
When Guan Yu saw that his old house was built of large stones, he was very curious, so he went into the house to observe it carefully. There are some skins and black jerky hanging on the indoor wall. Guan Yu walked out of the stone house and looked up at the "Mountain King Slope" again, which was especially close at hand. He set the horse off. Lao Yu said that it was getting late and the terrain in the mountains was complex, and wild animals appeared from time to time. Why not go camping tomorrow?
Guan Yu is strong and fearless on the battlefield. How can he be afraid of wild animals? Because the wild animals in the "Yanbangou" will pass through the "Wangjiatang", take the "Yujiayan" and hide at the fork in the road for food. If they encounter it, it will be dangerous. Guan Yu was grateful after hearing this. After bidding farewell to the old man Yu, men and women sprinted all the way through Taolin and arrived at Xiaojialing. In the fire, I saw a tiger with a rabbit suddenly jumping out of the bushes and running away.
Her said, we have passed "Xiaojialing", are crossing the Black Water Bay, and will soon arrive at "Shanwangpo". The sky turned white gradually, and the mouth was wide open. The fog falling from the sky didn't even wet the ground, only the white crystal dew on the grass.
The team came to the intersection and saw two people sitting on the roadside stone and a wild boar lying on the ground. Knowing that it was the Chen family brothers, her son hurried forward to say hello. After learning that Guan Yu was out on patrol and sympathized with the people's feelings, the Chen brothers got up and quickly returned to the "Mountain View Slope" to report.

"Mountain Wangpo" is named after Hao Jiazu, so the mountain is the highest, ranking first among all the mountains, and the first is king, so it is called "Mountain Wangpo". Here, the mountain people eat by the mountain, and it is also very comfortable to cut down trees and hunt. Many people who fled settled here. Most of the villagers are Tujia people, so they follow Tujia customs. Xikou at the foot of the mountain is the gateway to the mountain. If there are uninvited guests, the message tree on the "Maoding" mountain falls down, and the beacon tower behind Yujiachong Mountain will ignite a bonfire. When the bells and drums ring "Jian Yan" and "Gu Yan", the mountain people will defend themselves. Therefore, "Shanwangpo" has been safe and sound, and the mountain people have been able to live and work in peace and contentment.
Guan Yu climbed high and looked far away. As the two old people said, he was glad that the villagers could protect themselves. At this time, the villagers set up a "family banquet" in the open air and invited Guan Yu and the soldiers to have dinner together. "Home cooking" is the highest courtesy of "Shanwangpo" to distinguished guests. Families prepare food, get together in the open air and invite guests to have a big meal together. Deeply moved, Guan Yu saw the way of hospitality and ordered the soldiers to sit down and eat. At that time, the soldiers and civilians changed cups, and their affection was strong.
During the dinner, Guan Yu asked about the sufferings of the villagers. Master Hao said that the local villagers are simple, but they are defenseless against the enemy, especially the "air root" terrain is dangerous and wild animals haunt. If the general can stay for a few more days to train, it will certainly benefit the mountain people.
Guan Yu allowed it. Go to the "gas root" for field inspection. "Seven Brains", also known as "Temple Old", has a small temple that has been in disrepair for a long time. According to legend, in the Eastern Han Dynasty, there was a Jiangsu and Zhejiang man named Ye Yi who was chased by gangsters and his family was separated on the way. He fled to the depths of the mountain alone. Finally, Zhu Xia dog fainted because of exhaustion. Fortunately, it was found by local hunters and survived. In order to be grateful, he taught his disciples to build this temple in Qigenleng, hoping to pray for the merciful Guanyin Bodhisattva and bless the villagers with good weather and safe life. On the day when the small temple was built, that is, when he said goodbye, he was sent to the entrance of Yitangkou. Fortunately, Guanyin Bodhisattva appeared. Bodhisattva showed the way with golden light, Yuzryha masons went home to find relatives, and finally the family was reunited. The place where the Bodhisattva appeared is now "Guanyin Creek".
General Guan stood at the "root of Qi State" and looked out. The right side was abandoned. Apart from mountains and forests, it is a bottomless abyss. It is a hiding place for all kinds of wild animals in Shan Ye, especially wild boar. No wonder it's called "Pig Gorge". The general pondered over Grandpa Hao's worry, mainly that the mountain trough was inconvenient to manage. If there is a war, these mountain people will suffer. So Guan Yu camped here and trained the villagers to be brave.
This morning, Guan Yu led his troops to inspect the "Three Weirs". When he arrived at the training ground, he found that the light was always insufficient. He walks around strangely. At this time, a crow was twittering on the branch, and he was tired. He raised Guan Gong's broadsword and cut it down. As a result, the hillside was cut into a pit and the sun was shining directly. Later, it was said that the place where Guan Yu dug the pit was called' Moon Pit' and the direction of the sun was called' Sun Pit'. Both pits are the center of radiation.
Ten days after planting trees, the villagers were trained to be tough and brave, and Guan Yu assembled a team to leave. Before leaving, the villagers wanted to ask General Guan to leave something as a souvenir. General Guan rode a steed with his head held high, pointed a broadsword at the mouth of Liulin of the seven dragons, and laughed and said, I'll name this place "Liulinchong"!
The team has gone in a mighty way, the soldiers and civilians are reluctant to part, and the villagers have been sent to "Shanwangpo". Guan Yu looked back frequently, looked at each other in the eye and waved goodbye. In memory of Guan Yu's love of seeing three things, the villagers renamed "Shanwangpo" as "Sanwangpo".
