1February 3, 996, Lijiang, a famous shogunate cultural city with a long history, suddenly experienced an earthquake of magnitude 7.
Project approval and start-up
After the earthquake, World Bank officials visited Lijiang. To their delight, most of the residential buildings in the ancient city are intact, deeply moved by the spirit of Lijiang people's unity in earthquake relief, and offered to provide loans to help the ancient city recover and rebuild.
Knowing this, the leaders of Lijiang County Party Committee and government were overjoyed and immediately called relevant personnel to discuss loan projects with World Bank officials.
During this period, Huang Nai Town accompanied World Bank officials to visit the ancient city, introduced the glorious past of Old Town of Lijiang and Mufu to them in detail, and reported the restoration and reconstruction plan of Mufu.
World Bank officials were very excited. They were attracted by Mufu's profound historical and cultural heritage. They decided to visit Mufu site in person. Finally, Richard, President of the World Bank, made a decision on the spot and agreed to take the restoration of the shogunate as a major project to rebuild the ancient city.
Teacher Li asked, how much does the whole project cost? Huang Nai said, about 25 million.
In the evening, officials of the World Bank said after accounting that it was estimated that it would cost about 36 million yuan. Once the designed project is approved, the World Bank will be responsible for providing loans.
Shogunate reconstruction
At the end of the restoration and reconstruction project of Mufu, Huang Nai Town believed that Old Town of Lijiang had been approved as a world cultural heritage, and Mufu was located in the center of the ancient city, which was known as the crown of the ancient city. If Mufu is positioned as the ancient town of Lijiang Museum, it can not only fully display the long cultural history of the ancient city, but also strengthen the research of Lijiang national folk culture! This idea was supported by the leaders of the county party Committee and the government, and was formally compiled by the ancient city museum, which was designated as the nature of public institutions and enterprise management.
As a subordinate self-supporting enterprise, the shogunate has recruited all the staff and trained a group of lecturers who are familiar with shogunate history and love cultural work.

The newly restored Mufu held a completion ceremony and reappeared in front of people, covering an area of 46 mu.
On the 369-meter-long main axis, there are: Zhong Yi Stone Arch, Yimen Room, Wanjuan Building, Dharma Hall, Guangbi Building, Yuyin Building and Sanqing Hall. On both sides are rooms 162, with halls, attics, street buildings, courtyards, government offices and corridors.
Sitting west facing east, it is patchwork and ups and downs. It successfully reproduces the momentum of Lijiang's former Forbidden City and has its own unique style of ancient temples in mountain cities.
While retaining the architectural style of the Ming Dynasty, Mufu also runs through the simple, heavy and solid style of Lijiang ancient buildings, and combines the exquisite craftsmanship of Naxi and Bai nationalities to become a grand view garden with individuality.
Fuyu gully criss-crosses, surrounded by flowing water, which embodies Lijiang's unique feng shui and architectural cultural characteristics.
