Myth story of Bailu Temple
The name of Bailu Temple comes from a fairy tale. Famous in the Tang Dynasty, when I was demoted as my ambassador to Jingnan, I came to Yiyang several times and lived on the riverside mountain with lush ancient trees. Pei Xiu is knowledgeable and likes Buddhism. In the dead of night, he read by candlelight in the mountains, and the chanting attracted a fairy white deer to stop and listen. Every night, as long as the sound rings, the fairy white deer will fly to listen to the scriptures. One night, the secret of the white deer listening to the scriptures was discovered, and the fairy tale leaked, and the white deer never came back. To commemorate the immortal egret listening to the scriptures, the villagers named the place where the egret stopped to listen to the scriptures as Egret Mountain, and built a temple at the foot of the mountain, named Egret Temple.
