Wang Erlie (1727- 180 1) was born in Jiajiapuzi, Liaoyang County (now Fengshuigou Village, Lanjia Town, Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province). 16 years old, poetry and calligraphy have become a household name. Forty-four-year-old Jinshi It is said that in the year when he was a scholar, he was the top scholar in the senior high school entrance examination, and he was ranked fourth only because of the private school examination room in Gan Long. The examiner switched his place with Gan Long. Later, Qianlong saw that Wang Erlie's literary works were very good, his knowledge was outstanding and his writing was amazing. That is, Wang was appointed as a teacher to study, and the prince stayed in the palace to teach. Later, the saying that "the old master is in the same place and the master is few" refers to this story.
Wang Erlie wrote many couplets in his life. There is a famous historical couplet in Mengjiangnu Temple in Shanhaiguan, which is his masterpiece.
(1) To the abbot Yuan Kong.
Wang Erlie had just finished four years of private school, and his father told him to go to Longquan Temple in Qianshan, south of Liaoyang City to do odd jobs and make a living independently. Whenever he is free, he goes to a learned monk for advice on poetry. Once it snowed heavily, the young monk and handyman in the temple came to sweep the snow. They even played while sweeping and made a Guanyin statue out of snow. At this time, the abbot monk Kong Yuan came to see him and made a pair of couplets on the snowman for the young monks. Outgoing:
Snow accumulates Guanyin, and sunrise incarnates the South China Sea.
Hearing this, the young monks stared at me, and I stared at you, shaking my head and scratching my head, unable to answer. At this moment, Wang Erlie aside said "I'm right", and then casually read aloud a way:
Clouds become arhats, and the wind blows west.
Wang Erlie associated "snow" with "cloud", so he regarded "cloud turned into ocean" as "snow accumulated Guanyin". The sunrise melts and the wind blows away the clouds, so "the wind blows west" means "the sunrise incarnates the South China Sea". The mind is galloping, the image is vivid, and the right is really smart. Hearing this, the monk Kong Yuan repeatedly said, "Amitabha!" The young monks are also full of praise.
(2) Wang Erlie to little nun.
One day, the abbot Kong Yuan led a group of young monks boating to Da 'anji. Big Anji's little nun is drawing water by the lake. She saw the shadow of the little nun's punting reflected in the lake, and the boat pole just hit the shadow of the little nun, so the little nun made a top allied with a smile:
Monks punt boats and fight arhats in the middle of the lake;
This couplet is so vivid that the monks on board blushed. You look at me, I look at you. Wang Erlie Chou Chou little nun pumping, freely answer the bottom allied:
A nun draws water, and the rope is tied to Guanyin at the bottom of the pool.
People will consider this bottom line, won't they? When the little nun was pumping water, the people in the lake and the shadows matched each other, and it happened that two beautiful women were tied by a rope. When you bring water, you also bring your own shadow. This couplet made everyone breathe a sigh of relief. After listening to it, monk Kong Yuan could not help secretly praising him.
Seeing that Wang Erlie was so talented, the abbot Kong Yuan liked him very much, officially accepted him as a student, and carefully trained him. Wang Erlie made great progress in his studies and later became the emperor's teacher.
(3) The unstoppable Sanjiang Wang Erlie.
Wang Erlie is called "a gifted scholar in Sanjiang", and his brother is also very famous. During the Qianlong period, Jiangnan scientific research was in trouble. The examiners who took the exam were all local celebrities, and several examiners were beaten back by the examiners. The emperor ordered Wang Erlie to leave. Hearing that Wang Erlie is a northerner, the children look down on him even more. Some people say, "northerners might as well learn if they have problems." Wang Erlie didn't mind when he heard that. According to the regulations, you must take the exam three times in a row. Wang Erlie's three questions are all about "learning from time to time", so it is required that they cannot be repeated, which gives teachers a difficult problem. Some people were unconvinced and said, "We don't do such articles." And put up half a couplet in Wang Erlie's residence, saying:
Jiangnan Qianshui Qianshan Vegetable Seed
Wang Erlie came back, wrote the bottom allied, and posted it on the door:
Saibei is a saint day by day.
Then, he posted three articles on the topic of "learning while learning". You see, the three articles are different in style and colorful, and you can't help admiring Wang Erlie. A student asked Wang Erlie to write a picture. Wang Erlie wrote: "There are three rivers in the world, three rivers in my hometown, and my hometown has my hometown. I change articles for my brother." From then on, the reputation of "Three Rivers in Parallel Flows in Wang Erlie" spread like wildfire.
(4) remain uncorrupted and have nothing.
In the thirty-eighth year of Qianlong, Wang Erlie was appointed as the editor of Sikuquanshu and the editor of Santong Pavilion, and engaged in the compilation of Sikuquanshu. Two years later, he was appointed as the examiner of Beijing Normal University.
In A.D. 1796, Emperor Qianlong gave way to the 15th Prince Jia Pianyan and appointed Wang Erlie as a Bachelor of The Cabinetshi Read. Jiaqing ascended the throne, summoned Wang Erlie and said, "Old Ai Qing, how is your family?" Wang Erlie replied, "My family is still:
Three straw houses and half a piece of farm tools collected by Shimada Hanzo;
A few acres of thin land, looking at the spring breeze, looking at the rain!
Jiaqing said: "I know that old Ai Qing is an honest official. Do it, don't stay in Beijing, go to Tongshan, Anhui and invest money! " After three years in Tongshan, Wang Erlie returned to Beijing. When Jiaqing saw Wang Erlie coming back, he asked, "Old Ai Qing, is that enough this time?"
Did you spend more than a year?
Wang Erlie smiled and said, "I'm still innocent, leaving nothing behind."
Jiaqing shook his head and said, "Old Ai Qing, this statement is not necessarily true, is it?"
Wang Erlie hit back and took out three big copper coins from his sleeve. One is ten ingots, one is five baht, and the other is Jiaqing Bao Tong. These three copper coins were polished to a shiny finish. Because these three copper coins were used by Wang Erlie when he was in charge of the minting furnace, he kept them in his hand every day to check the quality, so they shone. When Jiaqing saw this, he nodded and praised again and again and said, "Old Ai Qing is so incorruptible, he is really an incorruptible king." This is how Emperor Jiaqing called Wang Erlie an "honest king". Someone sent a pair of couplets:
Bright moon with two shoulders,
Keep my hands clean.
When Wang Erlie was 54 years old, Emperor Jiaqing sent him to be the censor of Shaanxi Road, responsible for checking the coins minted in this area by the Qing Dynasty and handling some criminal cases in Shaanxi. Wang Erlie is 6 1 year old. Considering that he had passed the age of obedience, the Qing court transferred him back to Beijing as the success of Shuntianfu (now Beijing). Jiaqing also sent people to Liaoyang to build Hanlin House for him. When Wang Erlie came home, he saw ten foreyards and ten backyards, and the rooms were in the east and west rooms. Wang Erlie transformed the front yard into the Yi-ology Museum.
At the age of 72, Wang Erlie became an official in Dali Temple and returned to Liaodong to teach at Shenyang Academy. He died at the age of 74 (AD 180 1).
