How did the name Guangzhou Longyandong come from?

It is said that "Longdong", also known as Longdong Cave, became famous in the Qing Dynasty. By chance, I was lucky enough to visit an old man who claimed to be 8 1 year old in Longdong village. He said that he grew up here since he was a child, but he has never found the place "Longyandong", except that there is a bare stone on the nearby mountain, which consists of three big stones. The villagers call it "pig's head stone", which looks like it from a distance. The old man also said that longan and litchi were originally abundant near Longdong, which also conforms to the name of Longdong Cave. I drove to the forest park near Longdong village and looked from above. Sure enough, I can see the fruit trees all over the mountain. Unfortunately, the longan harvest season has passed, and we can't see the prosperous scene of harvest.

There is a memorial arch at the entrance of Longdong village, which is the "dragon head" according to the villagers. Longdong village is far away now compared with ten years ago. The area of houses in the village has increased by at least five times, and the residents from other places have gradually surpassed the original residents. I asked many villagers with local accents, hoping to find the location of "Longdong", but almost all the answers were "This village is Longdong, and I don't know where the Longdong sign is". As for longan, it is said to be "pig's head stone" in forestry academy and "Pugang grave" in botanical garden, but there is no definite answer.

Longan: It is the best place for geomantic omen. There is Pugang Nature Reserve in the east of Longdong Qilin, south china botanical garden. The staff of the botanical garden said that this is one of the legendary longan in Longdong. Hearing this, I immediately increased my interest and went to my post to watch longan. The so-called longan is actually the grave of a senior official on the mountain, and the villagers in Longdong Village are extremely superstitious about it. It is said that this is the best place for geomantic omen in Longdong area. There is a dense forest near the tomb, which is said to be a longan fengshui forest. This forest has been protected since 1930s, without any traces of artificial transformation, and the landscape of the original forest has been preserved. Tree species are born in turn from tall trees to low shrubs, and they are scattered. It is said that you can still be here when you are lucky. Every year in Tomb-Sweeping Day, residents of Longdong come here to worship their ancestors, and tens of thousands of people come here to pay homage at the peak of people flow.
