One day, a family in the village was holding a wedding, and when the sun was about to set, suddenly an old man came. Although his hair, eyebrows and beard are all white, his bones and muscles are strong and his face is red. He claimed to be the one who came from afar to congratulate him. The hospitable host warmly received him, found many accompanying guests and asked him to see the chief. The old man talked about everything, ancient and modern, Chinese and foreign, and was praised by everyone present. At the wedding reception, the old man got a little drunk and got up to leave.
As night fell and the banquet was about to break up, a hunter came in with a sika deer on his back, saying it was a gift. The host was very happy to hear that. To show sincerity, he cut the deer open on the spot. Strangely, the deer's stomach is full of dinner and smells of wine. People were puzzled and looked at each other. How do hunters shoot deer on the road and shoot them with bows and arrows? Everyone woke up and said that this must be the fairy deer in the cave of Lingzhi grass. After getting drunk, it turned into a person and showed its true colors.
The fairy deer benefited the villagers here, but the hunter hurt it. Since I hurt this fairy deer, the ganoderma lucidum on the top of the mountain has disappeared, and the clear spring water has dried up. The disaster has fallen on the villagers, suitable for all ages. In order to save the people, everyone agreed to build a bodhisattva temple for it and let it ascend to heaven as soon as possible. So ground was broken, and a Bodhisattva Temple was built in a few days, in which a bronze statue of sika deer was cast. The villagers nearby burn incense and pray in the temple every festival, hoping for an auspicious future.
Since then, the village name of Bodhisattva Deer has continued to this day.
