Legend of Beishan Park

There are nine peaks in the northern part of Jilin Province, such as Amusement in Kowloon, which was once named Jiulong Mountain during the reign of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty. There is a ditch named Crouching Tiger Gully behind the mountain. It is said that there was a tiger lying in the ditch. In the 21st year of Kangxi, Aisingiorro Xuanye, the emperor of the Holy Father, made an east tour to Wula, Jilin, the "land of Longxing" of the Qing Dynasty. According to Mr. Feng Shui, Wula, Jilin Province is guarded by four stars: East Qinglong, West White Tiger, South Suzaku and North Xuanwu. This place hides a crouching tiger in Kowloon and is on the verge of a river and water (Songhua River, Manchu song Ali Ula, the meaning of water). It is a place where dragons crouch and tigers have the spirit of emperors. This made Emperor Kangxi feel uneasy, so he ordered General Ningguta to chisel away several Jiulong Mountains to break the geomantic omen of Emperor Wula in Jilin. According to "Old News Record of Chicken Forest", "There are two peaks in Qimenling that cross Long Mai, and they are also cut off to break the omen". Jiulong Mountain was renamed Beishan Mountain or Beida Mountain (because it is located in the north of Jilin General's Office). After the Jade Emperor Pavilion was built in 41 years in Qianlong, it was also called Jade Emperor Pavilion Mountain.
