1. Liu Bang and Xiang Yu rebelled for different reasons.
Liu Bang was born in a civilian family in Chu State. He is just a civilian, lazy, idle and without ambition, but he likes to make friends and be loyal. Eating, drinking, gambling and fooling around with friends every day, hooligans have a strong habit, and they smell like big brothers in Jianghu. Such people, who eat, drink and play, will be content with the status quo, will not ask for trouble, and will not do much. But by chance, because of the prestige of this Jianghu elder brother, he was given a small pavilion, because the heavy construction of the country required the whole country to transport a large number of laborers, and he was responsible for organizing the escort, and because of the weather, he could not arrive at the service place on time. According to the tyranny of the Qin dynasty, there is only waiting for death. In order to survive, or live one more day, Liu Bang has only one way to go, and that is to be forced to rebel.
Let's take a look at Xiang Yu, who was born in the nobility of Chu. Because the family fought with Qin for many years and fought bloody battles, they paid the greatest price for the rise and fall of Chu. Finally, Chu died, and so did his relatives. Therefore, although Xiang Yu is a Chu man than Liu Bang, his hatred of Qin is far greater than that of Liu Bang. This is not only the national hatred given by the family, but also the family hatred. His initial rebellion was to overthrow the dictatorship of the Qin Dynasty, so his goal was more firm and clear than that of Liu Bang.
2. Liu Bang and Xiang Yu have different strategic goals.
Liu bang was forced to live because he needed to live. Living is his most important and only goal. He took refuge in Xiang Yu and surrendered to the king of Chu. It was only for this simple purpose. It was not until the king of Chu told him that "entering the customs first is king" that Liu Bang's vision of the future was inspired and he imagined another possibility of life. After Xiang Yu rebelled against the whole country and made him the king of Hanzhong, he realized that there was a bigger idea in the future, which was to let the once shocked Qin Shihuang meet the authority and domineering of Chu. For Liu Bang, his strategic goal is to gradually upgrade with the change of his own environment, so in the whole process, he is more flexible and more adaptable to setbacks.
Xiang Yu's goal from the beginning was to overthrow the rule of the Qin Dynasty. When this goal is achieved, he doesn't want to be an emperor like Qin Shihuang. He just wants to restore the whole country to the pattern of the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, which is his strategic goal that has never changed before. Because of this initial persistence, Xiang Yu realized his ideal more directly and earlier than Liu Bang, but when this ideal was realized, he stopped. Continue to maintain the stability and balance of the whole country in a hegemonic way.
3. Different ambitions
As I said before, Liu Bang's strategic goal has evolved step by step, while Xiang Yu has always adhered to one goal. According to the words of enterprises now, it is impossible to keep mountains and rivers. Only by constantly cultivating one's ambition can one really protect one's market scope. Liu Bang's ambition obviously surpassed Xiang Yu's in this respect, so how did his ambition come from? It depends on insight and foresight. How did Liu Bang, who was born much lower than Xiang Yu, cultivate his ambition?
4. Different views on personal abilities
Liu bang's humble cloth has never been trained by the king system since he was a child. Wen can't govern the country and calm the sky, and can't get on the horse. But he knew that he should use the ability of the team and start with rebellion. Xiao He has been advising him to seal the king of Hanzhong, and Han Xin planned a "Hanzhong Right" for him to decide the country, so that Liu Bang could go out of Hanzhong, enter the Central Plains and dominate the country.
On the other hand, Xiang Yu has a force, but he can give full play to his ability and be invincible in troubled times. Therefore, in order to realize his ideal, he felt that he had done it himself, so he refused to accept other people's suggestions, so that even the only counselor, Fan Zeng, could not play it out. When Liu Bang went through the customs and decided that Sanqin would strive for hegemony in the Central Plains, Liu Bang also gave full play to his ability to unite with Lian Heng, while Xiang Yu relied on individuals to cope with it, resulting in a situation of no head or tail. Finally, I missed the good situation and lost my life.
5. Different personalities
The cognition of ability actually comes down to the difference of personality, and the sentence that personality determines fate is actually very reasonable. Liu Bang was born in a humble background, and he rose up because he could not meet the most basic primitive needs of human beings, so he could accept any contempt all the way. In case of defeat, in order to give himself an escape space, he can even leave his children behind, let Xiang Yu cook his father, rekindle his love when he experiences setbacks, and get Han Xin's blackmail by a detour. All this is because he is low enough to get used to his own gains and losses. On the contrary, he makes himself more open-minded. Xiang Yu was born in a famous family, all-powerful and smooth sailing. He has never experienced the tempering of life setbacks. Because of his outstanding ability, continuous success, continuous superposition of people's self-confidence, and everyone's flattery, he became extremely conceited and acted arbitrarily. Encountered an ambush on all sides, although the defeat is still glorious, there is still a chance to turn over. It is not impossible to adjust your mentality after crossing the Wujiang River and make a comeback. However, Xiang Yu, who lived a heroic life, chose Wujiang to commit suicide because he could not accept failure. Now many people say that if it was Liu Bang, he must have run away. Living is Liu Bang's most primitive instinct. Exaggerated, even if the uprising brothers and his family around him can't escape, he will drag out an ignoble existence and live well.
Besides, the hongmen banquet missed the opportunity to kill liu bang. In fact, in Chu history, Xiang Yu had plenty of opportunities to kill Liu Bang after the Hongmen banquet. Excuses can be found, mainly because he didn't do it in the end, but he was still conceited, too high for himself and too low for Liu Bang. I don't think Liu Bang, a coward, can afford to turn over the stormy waves. Deep down, he didn't regard him as an opponent at all. When Liu Bangding was in the Three Qin Dynasty, Xiang Yu also dealt with the civil strife in Qi mainly by counterinsurgency. In this way, it was brewed into the final personal tragedy step by step, which finally changed the direction of history and made the Han Dynasty a success for hundreds of years.
