Introduction to Longquan Temple Longquan Temple is located at the foot of Fenghuangling Mountain in Xishan, Beijing. Built in the early years of Liao Dynasty, it has a history of 1000 years. There are two vigorous cypress trees in front of the mountain gate, two stout ginkgo trees and two ancient cypresses in the temple, both of which are thousands of years old. The original site faces east, and a single-hole ancient stone bridge in the temple has been well preserved so far. It was built by the first generation abbot Jisheng monk, named Jinlong Bridge. Hundreds of meters east of the temple, there is a stupa. It is said that on the day when Toutuo died, birds were singing in Wan Li in the sky, and monks chanted scriptures for 49 days. This pagoda has been smelling of elegant sandalwood for three years.
There are temple sites near Longquan Temple, such as Xueyuan Temple, Fangshang Temple, Huangpu Garden, Miao Feng Temple and Chaoyang Cave. Buddhism flourished in this area in history. Phoenix Ridge is backed by Longquan Temple, which is also known as Zhubi Mountain, Shenshan Mountain and Laoye Mountain in history. There are many closed caves on the mountain, such as Three Buddha Cave, Xuanyuan Cave, Immortal Chair, Immortal Cave, etc. Among them, the Buddha statues carved on the stone wall are relatively complete.
At the end of the Ming Dynasty, monasteries gradually declined. By the end of the Qing Dynasty, Changping House was located on the east side of the original temple, with Jinlong Bridge as the central axis, and the temple was rebuilt, facing south. The original temple was named "West Temple", collectively known as Longquan Temple. Before liberation, temple fairs flourished, and Guangdong pilgrims raised funds to build Wanyuan tea shed in the east courtyard of Qiaonan, offering tea porridge and forming a good relationship. During the Anti-Japanese War, due to internal troubles and foreign invasion, Longquan Temple gradually fell silent.
